Can't bulldoze some buildings..

Interesting thing happened last night. There was a city I started a few years ago and subsequently left to play other regions. I decided to resurrect it and try out some new ideas. I was bulldozing several city blocks and a few buildings would not bulldoze, no matter what I tried (de-zone, raise/lower/level terrain, build a road thru it, etc). The one bizzare part is one of the buildings is the maxis convention center reward.

Could this be caused by a mod or plug in that I downloaded after last playing that city? I may just abandon it all together, not that big of a deal, just interesting...
