Is it possible to create ploppable industry (e.g. for the landmark menu) which produces freight? If yes, which property do I need to set in the reader?

Must be something to do with regrowing...

It has more likely something to do with the zone type.
As far as I've learnt from studying saved game files,
only buildings on zoned lots are checked for commute starting points (workers and freight).

Since plopping a residential or an industry always converts the zone to "plopped zone"
(even if plopped on a previously residential or industrial zone),
such buildings will never be checked for commuters going out.

Possibly a stupid question, but here goes: Do the same limitations apply to Reward type Industrial Lots as well?

Yes, they are also "plopped zone" (just like any lot plopped through the BuildingPlop or LotPlop cheats).
