Hello i have two questions .

1 i have installed the cam and it made two folders in my plugins a_cam and z_cam i want to know if there will be any problem if i join the files  of this two into one single folder "CAM" just to have a better organization of my plug ins.

2. I installed "promote walking" for betterpathfindin and i want to know if it was a good choice . cause what happens to me is that if i install "promote nothing" when my cities get big there'll be a lot of traffic and its too difficult for me to get rid of it. if i install "promote bikes" (or whatever it said ha ha) my cities will never have traffic problems no matters how big it is, and thats too weird specially cause nobody will use subway train etc.

I'm trying right know "promote walking" but i haven't played too much to talk about this, but i will be very pleased if you give me opinions of what's best for you, I'm very knew to simcity (about plug ins and that) any other suggestions or whatever you want to say to me will be well received.

Welcome to SC4D, Zeratai :).

1)  The reason for the naming of the folder is because the order SC4 loads the files.  The order is alphabetical, starting with the files in \Plugins, and then moving through the folders (repeating the root-files to sub-folder pattern).  There is actually a Plugin folder in the ProgramFiles\Simcity 4 folder that loads before the MyDocs\Plugin folder.

That being said, it's best to leave files where they install to, or read the instructions that come with the download.

2)However, if you use NAM, path finding files within CAM should not be used (which are they files in z_cam).  When CAM was developed NAM was not as sophisticated, but now that it is, the CAM path finding files are out dated.

My advise is to use the latest NAM.  Also, these types of files can be interchanged, meaning that you can find the one you want with trial and error.  I prefer to start with very low capacities so I get a feel of how the city is developing.

thanks for the reply. !  i want to ask more questions about CAM and overall gameplay

in the list of cam dependencies there are some dependencies that take me to weird Japanese sites that have nothing to do with SC4 cause like this

CrystalPile-0x5ad0e817_0x8dbb957b_0x90000.SC4Model has not been found, you can download it : http://raika-s.hp.infoseek.co.jp/data/lot02-2.zip
IoliteSpire-0x5ad0e817_0x8dbb957b_0x130000.SC4Model has not been found, you can download it : http://raika-s.hp.infoseek.co.jp/data/lot02-3.zip

i really dont know what to do with this that i cant have? :(

RippleJet

Check this list instead. That's the most updated one. :)

Calcite (Iolite) and the Crystal Pile are nowadays included in Raika MEGA Pack Vol 01. ;)

thank you for those files... i have more questions about all this CAM modd:

when i downloaded CAM a cleanitol file to find dependencies come with it, i run it and i find that there a lot of dependencies i downloaded the ones that i could find. the question is ...is this list actually the correct one to have dependencies for CAM? cause ive been searching here in the forum and found some cleanitol files that will "back up" a lot of the files ive just downloaded from the CAM list. also about the "Starter packs" are these things apart of the main clanitol file that comes with the CAM? im really confused...  ()what():(

("If you have old non-CAMpatible lots that are using models included in these starter packs, you can use the CAM Remove Lots BSC Cleanitol to remove them.") this list gets me a lot of buildings

i recently read a topic about "blank lots" i really dont understand this term what do they do and are these blank lots the plopabble version or the growable? and why theres a list to "back up" these files. what should i do please help... :bomb:
