Traffic Mod alone?

Hey,

I LOVE your work, the CAM is great, but the problem is my Laptop has limited space as it is, so I cant afford to use up all the space on these extra download props I need for the buildings and the buildings themselves It is a shame, I'm getting a new laptop before I run off to Uni when I will download them all, also Simtropolis has updated and the links to the STEX no longer work, and I've tried to download from there, but it just won't work.

I few questions really, the main one though is, Can I download just the increase traffic Mod alone from the Increase in RCI demands. Reason is, I makes it MUCH better, streets are actually useful until your city has like 50k people which always I thought was a pain in SC (Among other things).

Also wanted to ask what happens If I decide to keep the CAM but don't download the extra buildings? Are their Maxis ones used at those later levels you added? Or does it just continue to make the same ones over and over?

All maxis buildings were updated to include the new stages, so even if you don't download any additional CAM builings, the maxis buildings will grow according to their new stages, but there arent many, and I dont think they cover all the stages so it will be a lot of repetition. Also, I think the CAM added some growable lots for some of the maxis landmarks, and made them higher stages. For example I've seen the Bank of America tower landmark (Big brown one) grow in my cities.

Yeah, before I used the CAM buildings always got repetitive, so no worries about that.

With the Bank of America and other landmark growable plots I'm guessing that they also have people living there or Office/Service jobs? I haven't downloaded anything to change them to do that when I place them myself so is that included in the CAM as well? (Damn, I should have kept the read me file now  )

The quick answer in no, but yes.  The traffic are in the z_cam folder, so you would just remove the a_cam folder and have what you want.  However, this is not recommended.  In fact, it is recommended that you use the latest version of NAM rather than the CAM traffic.  NAM has been through some major changes since the release of that file.

Oh, you have the double demand thing.  This is not the intention of CAM, but a side bug.  To fix it you DatPack CAM into SimCity_1.dat.  Just make very sure that you have a backup of SimCity_1.dat.  This is done by copy/pasting SimCity_1.dat into a folder named "SimCity_1" into your plugin folder.  The file named "ColossusAddOnMod_1.dat" from "a_CAM" is moved into this folder and renamed "zColossusAddOnMod_1.dat".  Then run DatPacker on this folder.  A file named "SimCity_1.dat" will now be in a folder called "Plugins_Compressed".  This file is then moved back into the Main Sim City folder.  Remove the old SimCity_1.dat and Cam file from your plugins, and you should be good to go.

Did the DATpacker thing, took me a while as I re downloaded all my addons so that they were in their original folders and not the ones I created for them . Also backed up all files away from the plugins, in case things go wrong
RCI demands were okay in the CAM however, I will still keep it. Though don't know how to check which growth stage I'm on. That downloaded this http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1073, should help me out right?

As for now, I will keep how it is Worked well yesterday until my Laptop inevitably died on me while in game, without me saving should come as a lesson I think

Though don't know how to check which growth stage I'm on.

That would be CAM Stage Limits and Thresholds.  There is no way to figure out your % of each stage though unless you start counting...  The link will help you get a general idea.

Just noticed I can't even get those CAM parks as I haven't any of the extra building downloads
