DT NDEX skyscraper needs to be relotted

I really like DuskTrooper's old Juneau Bank Tower. I'd be using it in my cities save for one problem: it's prone to immortality. In fact, Juneau Bank was the first time ever I saw immortality occur.

I'd like to see it relotted as a 5x5 so it could be enjoyed properly, but I can't remember the last time I saw DT active, or much of NDEX for that matter (lots of skyscrapers sitting there waiting to be CAMified!). Perhaps, if you can't get any approval from anybody, it could be a "lot only, download original for models but delete the lot" thing.

Is this possible when I can't remember the last time I saw DT and his knaves around?

To make a lot mortal, all you have to do is make the Occupant size smaller in Reader.  In this case, if the third value was 50 I bet it would work, but you want to avoid going too small.

Unfortunately, there is no permission to CAMify these buildings and upload them.  Nothing is stopping you from doing it yourself though.  To do this you use PIMX.  You would set the Filling degree, change the occupant size to fit on a 3x3, then make a growable.  Go back to the building desc and give it the proper CAM stage (the stage given by making the lot) and then copy/paste the Props/Textures from the old lot into the new.  You may have to move the building in LE to get it where it was, which may mean changing the occupant size.  It is advisable to make a new lot after changing the OS, but not to recompute the filling degree.

I have never dabbled in SC4 modding in my life. This is a request.

The challenge is that DT still has intellectual rights over his buildings/lots. It's fine for the end-user, such as yourself, to mod the building for your own use in your cities. But it is not appropriate for someone else to mod it and distribute it publically. Sorry, but them's the rules.

That's what I figured based on the fact that there's no CAM stuff out there from him yet. I guess "silence" is all us knaves will be getting for a long while...

I can only recommend that you learn to do it yourself.  Here is a guide to do it with PIMX (Link).  The only difference with the building in the tutorial and yours is that after step 2 (computing the filling degree) you need to change the occupant size to something like 49,250,49 (that 250 may be wrong, keep the second value the same).  This will make it rest on a 4x4 lot by default, but still have plenty of wiggle room. An optional step is to give it a CAM stage after you know the stage of the LOT.  This will make it appear in the CAM counter.

You can copy/paste the props/textures from the original, or re lot it entirely (be warned, you may find yourself doing this for every model you download).

However, there's nothing stopping anyone creating a new LOT using the original building, listed as a dependency.... Just make sure to include a Cleanitol file that removes the original LOT
The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it
