How to make a CAM lot into a non-CAM lot?

I do not use the camelot (CAM) system.

However, I have seen many lots that I want to use in regular play (without CAM).  What do I do to make these CAM-lots into regular lots.  I know it will involve editing with the Ilives Reader or something.  What properties need to be changed so they will work without CAM?

The easiest thing to do is to download from Simtropolis as those lots are seldom CAMpatible.

If the model is only at SC4D? Then I'd simply delete everything except the the model file. Use the Maxis PIM to make a new building that is not CAMpatible - then put that building on a new lot. Bingo! no need to learn iLives reader.

Thanks.  But I do know how to use the Reader.  What do I change?  Is it simply a matter of changing the building growth stage property?  Or are there other factors involved besides growth stage?

It would probably grow if you just changed the stage to stage 8 (for Res or Com).  There are a few properties that may get in the way, but in that case, dropping the Capacity Satisfied property may work.  Problem is that CAM and SimCity have different flow charts for different properties, you can't assume that dropping only the stage/capacity will leave you with a balanced game.
