As the title states I'm looking to see how to change the stats on some lots I'm building.  The main things I'm looking to do is make a lot need no water, no power, change job numbers and so forth.  I'm also looking to see what program would be the best ones to use to do this and any tutorials out there that would show how to do this.  Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

SC4Tool is the most user-friendly tool - and it has many functions besides simple editing - so you may want to start there.  You can download the PROGRAM and its associated IMAGES from these links.  You can find information on using the program in this TOPIC.

The iLive Reader is the most powerful tool, but there is a bit of a learning curve.  It can do things that SC4Tool cannot.  You can download the program HERE.  You can find information on using the program in this TOPIC.

And of course, for making lots, the lot editor in PIM-X is the best tool available.  It will set properties properly from the start, unlike the Maxis tools.  You need to download the PROGRAM and its updated PROPERTIES file from these links.  There is also a USER GUIDE available on the LEX, and lots more information is available in this TOPIC.  Just be warned that this program does not work with Windows 7 Service Pack 1.

Scott gives good advise. I used the XTool when it was in beta about three years ago to do re-do my entire plugin folder. It's quick once you learn the mouse clicks. It will set all the occupancy, pollution, and consumption numbers with a couple of mouse clicks and then change the lots to grow at the correct stages afterwards with another couple of clicks. Save - Save and you're done. Although, proper lot creation is the criteria for the XTool. So it will take some manual data entry if you want to have lots with no water ... etc. Still, the XTool displays the numbers in decimal and not hex which is easier to understand.

Good Luck
