The drumlanrig farm is nice and full of details. I like the originality of the gardeners picture and the preparation of the event with the horse pictures  &apls

What a beatiful update !
So much details, your pictures are always a delight for rural scenes lovers !  ()stsfd()

Can't wait the next pictures...

@nbvc: Thank you  :)

@knapp: Thank you  :) It's always peaceful in Alba ... well most of the time ;)

@carl: Keep your curiosity  ()stsfd() It will still last a little while until the next update will be ready  ;)

@rooker: Thank you so much for your kind words.  :)

@noah, Benoit, ricardomiranda, benedict: Thank you!  :)

@art: Thanks a lot!  :)I guess that's a matter of taste. Some say it's too "peaceful" and empty around the castle, others think it's too overcrowded in parts  ;)

@kelis, kergelen, Yan: Thank you  :)

Here's a little teaser ... propably only the first in a series of teasers as I still have a lot to prepare  :)

Yesterday I was close to giving up all efforts to create some new horses and carriages for SC4. But last night I somehow managed to create a carriage and pair that fits my requirements. It's not perfect in all details yet, but it's a basis for all the other models I still need :)

The coach looks fantastic. The driver and his hat looks very nice. I'm very curious how it goes.
Great work.  &apls

Some really serious stuff again, as Framly said: You are the BATter queen!  &apls &apls

Besides details with the colors the BAT looks spot-on  &apls &apls   I've already imagined this as something that would look great in your MD and it's nice to see it realized. Good luck tweaking your work and I look forward to the next showing

JonM

This is amazing!!! I love the small town feel! Its like playing SimTown but way better..

Tell me are most of the props custom?

rambuckel

@dantes, carl, noahclem, JonM: Thanks a lot for your motivating words :)

Still far from being ready, but I'm approaching my goal to create presentable horsemodels with carriage. There's still a lot to do but finally I found some textures for the horses' fur that match my requirements.  :)
I still have to work on the heads and on the hind quarters of the horses. There's only one model of carriage yet but those models are the smaller problem. Modelling and texturing the horses really is much more tricky.  :P

I'd be pleased to hear your advices or suggestions.

I can't offer you any advice but I think the horses and carriages look outstanding!  &apls &apls  Nice that there are multiple color options also. Are the sheep going to be your next project?  ;D

The farms are looking great by the way! The only thing I'd really like to see added are HD trees.

Looking forward to more

Dantes

I like the realistic and romantic images of agriculture.
This must be eco-agriculture.  :satisfied:

Great pictures, I'm looking forward to more.  :)

@ Noah, thanks a lot for your kind comment. That's really motivating. Sheep are not yet on my agenda  $%Grinno$% Actually there is another project of RFR that has to be realized after this pretty time-consuming Drumlanrig project. But maybe sheep will be on my agenda one day. But first of all I have to take part in realizing our plans. Otherwise my teammates would go nuts I guess  ;D

@ dantes, ricardo: Thank you very much  :)

Well, I just fumbled a little bit on the head and the hind quaters. And it went so well that I decided to present the result right away. I guess I'm really pretty close to final now. Those are the models that are ready so far. Some still have little "mistakes" which I did not see until I saw the models in SC4. But that's only cosmetics which will be done in quite a short time compared to the time it took to create the models as far as they are now.

There will be horses of different colors of course and diagonal models as well. So that's the result as it is today:

Wild horses in the park!

Welcome to

Drumlanrig Horse Driving Trials – Part I

Other parts will follow. But I will have to spend many more hours in BAT before I can present new pictures ;)

While researching things about Drumlanrig, I read something about ,,Drumlanrig Horse Driving Trials". The information about that was quite short but it was enough for me to take the challenge to create some sort of Horse Driving Event. The shape of the course is similar to a course that I drove some years ago with only two horses. I'm not able to drive carriages drawn by four horses alone. I need an instructor to do so and I am not actively driving anymore. But driving four (or even more) horses is quite tricky as you have to conduct the pairs individually. You cannot just go diagonal to go through a curve. In zigzag-courses like the one on the bridge or in the "Sheepersgate" the driver needs a lot of sure instinct to pass the course.

Well see yourself what's going on. I hope the pictures speak for themselves:

This is awesome  &apls &apls &apls  I've been incredibly busy with work and really need to go to bed but I need to at least start giving this update the credit it is due. The custom content work, your pictures, and your style of storytelling really work well.
