I am a definite noob; this is my first topic.

I have installed what appears to be the latest NAM, as well as Street Addon Mod v3. I see the Tab Ring for Street Addon Mod starter pieces. I just cannot create the actual roads. I can plop the starter pieces, and control the direction they point.

However, I cannot turn a starter piece into a road. I have read the FAQ file that comes with the SAM, and if I read it correctly, I should have "road pieces" as well as "starter pieces" in the ring tab. I don't, though. Can anyone help me with this?

There are no "Road Starter Pieces" for the SAM which is intended for "Streets" & not for "Roads".

And besides... "Where we're going we don't need roads!" OK, dumb movie reference moment.

Anyhoo...

After you've plopped the SAM Starter pieces what you need to do is drag a strip of street starting from the starter piece stub out. Then after you're done dragging a stretch of street you can now delete the starter piece section so you can drag the street out from where the starter piece was at.

I can now lay streets! My problem was not realizing the "dirt streets" etc., were actually aliases for the Maxis street.  Once I extended the starter pieces with the original street, presto! I hhad a dirt street (or gravel, brick, etc.)

Thanks again for your help. Rural scenes are my major interest, so this is a big step forward.
