This is a very "slopy" village I'm building at the moment.

Visit Vorsfelde.

Ashes, I love this picture!  ;D

These houses look charming
But I'm not sure if your windmills have enough wind on this slope... ;)

Thanks, I'm glad you like it :)
Right, actually I didn't think of that :D Beside they are standing in different directions  &Thk/( I think I have to do a lot more work on realism &idea

It's very good they stand in different directions, this way you have power irrespective of wind (if you have wind...  ;) )

very pretty ashes, nice bit of medditeranean (did i spell that right? i think if a words long enough you get to just make it up) style you have goin' there, that farm's a very nice touch, and nice bit of fotoshopping too.

here's a bit from one of my cities, not sure if it counts a sloped, since it's mostly leveled, but here goes
Yarbles! Great bolshy yarblockos to you sir!

Thank you, and i have not, though it is slightly planned out as to what goes where, i still want to completely terrace off the rest of the city.
Yarbles! Great bolshy yarblockos to you sir!

WOW.... sweet terracing...

reminds me soo much of sc2k
The most astounding and unique aspect of the human race is our fervent application of our ingenuity to kill each other, thus completely defying the near-universally proven fact that the ultimate goal of a member of a species is to ensure the survival of the species.

Mulefisk: Where in the world did you find these walled-in sloped ramps?

I'd love to use them as a template to see if they can't be implemented in the NAM for RHW and Maxis highway ramps.

schm0: Here you go: http://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=17489

The lots aren't that great but they can be modified easily.  If you want something to use as a template, I'd use marrasts M-TEL set instead.

Thanks Mulefisk... you can see what I'm trying to do here.

I am Bluepelican31 on Simtropolis.  Those viaducts you linked to are the only thing I have ever released :D.  Mulefisk you are the first person I have seen use them, I don't even have them installed right now.  You made great use of them.

Just another of the same city, only further progressed,
Obviously, click to enlarge, and it may take a sec to load.

Oh, and thanks for the link Mulefisk, always wondered where you'd gotten those.

EDIT: pesky imageshack :angrymore:.

LoneRanger

Wow, thanks to this thread [I recently stumbled on] I started to take an interest in onslope building.
Onslope makes some nice eyecandy as showed in this thread.
My contribution and I hope you guys like it:

Please, any critics, hints or other usefull comments are welcome.  :) [except for the pause while taking a screenie  :D ]

That looks great, LoneRanger. Most of all I like you terrain-forming skills and the way you gently spread the trees cross the hill side. What terrain mod is this? I definitely need that!

Andreas

I must admit that I don't really like the streets along the hill and the various buildings that are scattered along it. But the place for Burg Eltz is beyond awesome; together with that terrain mod it looks really great. Too bad that your computer doesn't seem to handle the shadows very well. What about using a regular road and curve it upwards in smooth serpentines?
Andreas

LoneRanger

I'm not sure yet what causes the "weird" shadows, I started when I upgraded from a 7600GT to a 8800GT.
I don't have a special profile yet for SC4 so I'm probbably using some settings SC4 can't handle well.
As for the terain mod, I have meadowshire installed but also missouriBreaks wich loads last. [long story]

I am working right now on road curving up gently as you suggested.

LoneRanger

Same location after Andreas' suggestions.

This view gives a better impression of the steepness:

It's not perfect but I think it defently improved.
