Will add a few lifesavers, but not the "buffers". The buffers are mostly use when the stop/terminals and the ship are not the design to each other.
On some boats they will be taken in when the boat is not in harbour.

Some bad news.

Did look at how the boat looked in-game.
Sorry to say, the railling and where I had used alpha was not looking any good.  :'(
I guess I have to go back and redo the uv-mapping again.

Had a look at the Venice Watertaxi.
Now I just spring some numbers: The pixel density (not sure what the units are) on the rail for the Venice was about 2,
compared to the railing on the Venice Motonavi (motorship), where it was 48 :P
A 25 times difference. Sort of get why it looked so bad :P

PS: The pixel density I get from a plug-in called TexTools, which I use together with PolyUnwrapper (which is not free anymore :( )

Time to get painting again, all over:

Have gone from 2 to 4 textures. It should give a better result anyway.

Some progress on the ship:

Got a problem with one of the textures. In the reader everything is show one way,
but in game the red "safety boxes" on the roof is showing another color.  ()what()

Jack_wilds

like the progress...   what I like is it stands out and won't blend into the sea...   :satisfied:

vester

With a little help from Rivit I got the problem sorted out.
It was a small slip of the mouse:

Love it too, any possibility to fill a little bit the 2 parts whci look really flat (front and top), with texture or 3d elements.

c.p.

Maybe one of the reasons it looks flat is the lack of shadows, but I suspect that is just the nature of these animation models ()what()
Anyway, it looks great.
It just needs a queasy person leaning over the rail ::)

Girafe

could have bollards in front ?

Well been working on some more versions. Here the original, Venice Motonave (motorboat):

Looks like I need to cut into the roof and top deck, to remove the shadowing on the chimneys.

C.P. There are some general shadows, done with ambient occlusion maps add to the color maps.

EDIT: If you look close on the walls above the railing at the name San Giorgio (a reference to the church where i was baptised), you will see its darker than the outer side panels.

compdude787

With that color scheme, the boat really resembles the Maxis car ferry now--except better!! :D
