That is an amazing update.  I love your seaport, you have a talent for it.  That looks great and your use of all the available tools is positioned perfectly.  Wish I had your skill, great great job.   &apls

paroch: Paul, you are too kind, thanks for the great comments. I'm afraid I can't help you with the Freytag building, I can't bat for peanuts, but I'm sure there is someone around here who can help.

Of course that was an obvious fix for the ferry terminals  $%Grinno$%. Just forgot to mention that one  :D Hi-tech works everytime.

bat: Thanks bat

stewart_garden: Well crap is OK I think  :-[ If not will see you again in a couple of weeks  :) ]

Jmouse: Thanks Joan, I enjoy building all my cities (although some can be more frustrating than others) but I had the chance to experiment with some previously unused lots here which made this more fun. Appreciate the comments. (PS: I think you'll find there are a couple of container depots and a passenger station hidden in those pic's  ;)

threestooges: Well actually it was once all blue  ;D Thanks for the comments about the harbour, it's not based on anything RL, just something I made up. I have a few ideas as to how to make it better, but the tile isn't large enough. Something to save for my next MD.

emilin: No need to apologise, I probably owe you a visit too. I find it hard to keep track of where I've visited previously these days. I really should write them down. Will try to set aside a bit more container space next time  ;). Thanks for dropping by.

tkirch: Thanks tkirch, appreciate those great comments.

patfirefghtr: Pat, thanks mate. However, I thought the theme song war was over, obviously not so prepare for the worst my friend  :D
My apologies to any innocent civilians caught in the crossfire $%Grinno$%

Terrigal

Well I've finished off the outlying areas of Terrigal, here are a few pic's to end with.

Well thats Terrigal, next?? Maybe back to St Leonards, a lot to do there still, or maybe a rural area with a bit of
ploppable water experimentation. Who knows, I don't. We'll find out on the weekend.

Cheers All

Dave

Those pictures are just incredible. Everything looks so....real! I just love the sunken railway, the way you used Somy's harbours, the walls next to the highway, the commercial billboards just above the tunnel, the water facility next to the highway...I should stop..I like it all :)

But there are two things I find 'disturbing'. I hope you don't mind me saying this, but imho I think it would look even better with PEG's no-dirt railroad mod. In picture 3 you see the field overlapping the rail a bit and on picture 5 the little brownish thing between the curved rail-lines just doesn't belong there. But hey that's just my opinion, other then that: true greatness!

That are some new great pictures of Terrigal! Wonderful update!

Jmouse

Outstanding photos as always, Dave. The overview is so stunning it took me quite by surprise. All I could do was sit and stare at it for awhile, studying the colors, forms and areas recognized from the previous update.
Other faves include the statue park and the one where the rail curves - that one even has a toy train!  :D
BTW, where does Terrigal fit into the big picture? I need to update my region view.

Until next time...
Joan

paroch

Hi Dave,

What a great town Terrigal has been to visit.  As said above the sunken railway with the long curve is very good.  Gonna be interesting to see you follow that, but somehow I suspect you will.

Laters,

Paul

capo: I hear you, I think this mod is better than the standard maxis default, but your correct about the diagonals. Will give your suggestion a try. Haven't applied it yet, but I think the following teaser may show that it well be well tested.

bat: Thankyou my friend.

Jmouse: OK Joan working on it, will give you a region shot next full update. Glad you liked, always have enjoyed my toy trains. Some people never grow up  ;)

paroch: Well if you liked the curved rail, maybe the following will be of interest, Thanks Paul

patfirefghtr: Don't you worry Pat, I'm building up my supply of ammunition  :D The counterattack will commence soon, or maybe later, can't give too much away  $%#Ninj2. Although we are once again at war, appreciate the comments.

What's Next

Well I'm still working on St Leonards and it will feature again soon. But I am also working on another area (well 2 or 3 really), the variation keeps me interested. Here is a peek of  Blaxland in it's very early stages. Nothing much more than a railway line across the mountains. What I will do with this, well you'll just have to wait and see.

Cheers

Dave

Shadow Assassin

Ah, it's almost as mountainous as its namesake. I like what you've done so far with the rail line. I can see a nice place for a waterfall...

Well my friend, it seems that I have missed a few updates and I am truly sorry for that.  I have been incredible busy, but I'm here now.  Since the last time I replied here you have done alot of very nice work.  Your sea port looks fantastic.  A little bit square but the game sometimes limits what we can do.  Peg's lots do look very good in your port, you have used them very well.  I have also DL'd them but haven't had the chance to use them as I am making many changes to these lots in LE.  ;)
Blaxland looks very interesting.  I have no patience for building a city on that type of terrain, so my hats off to you.  I can't wait to see what you have in store for us.

Hello Dave,

It seems I didn't comment your work from some time, so I want to say a few words about last three updates:
- I like the general form of the Terrigal seaport. There is usually not too much place in SC4 cities, so most of people make ports with relatively narrow canals and many piers. Your port is different and I think it is very realistic - the port needs a large open area protected against storms, to enable ships to manoeuvre.
- I like the way you connected the new PEG CDK3 set with OWW pieces. They look very well together!
_ in your last update of Terrigal I like the general view and the waterfront. It looks very diversified, again you use different kinds of lots together and it looks great.
- I like the fifth picture in this update - this small park with the monument and big rocks at the seaside look fantastic!
- The third picture - what is this high tank, where can I find it?
- And your last update: it look very promising, but intriguing - rail lines are built very professional, but there are a lot of them, will it be a big rail junction in mountains or a big city here?  :)

Very interesting region!

Hello, there, my good friend!

That mountainous area with the railroads looks amazing! I love the bridge and the tunnels, it's definitely going to be a special place. I'll be looking forward to seeing how you develop it!

Jmouse

Oooooh, this looks very interesting. I won't get a wink of sleep until I see what you do with this terrain and new layout! ;)

Until next time...
Joan

stewart_garden

Dave, your picture of Blaxland has disappeared, and given the approving noises from the above Balnavians it sounds like it is a good one.  I'll come back another time.

Cheers,

Stewart

I love the port that you built in Terrigal Dave. Also the park is very nicely made. The unbuild terrain of Blaxland is looking very interesting. I cannot wait to see how you will develop it

Shadow Assassin: Thank's SA, there just may be a waterfall of three  ;)

bat: Thanks Bat

rooker1: I agree, I'd rather use a more user friendly terrain. There will be some development here, but it is more to test out a few mods, in particular the ploppable water. I expect nature to play a major role.

Ennedi: Well there is only one rail line. It is reasonably old and it was easier to go over than through. These days more of a scenic route although it does service a couple of small towns. Appreciate the comments. Here is the link to the water towers. They are SG lots and a random ploppable set.

thundercrack83: Hi Dustin, thanks for the comments. Cheers mate.

Jmouse: Well it's three days later, you must be very tired :) And as promised, a bit of a regional view for your info

Blaxand is way off the map at the moment. It was a bit of an experiment initially, but will blend into to region in due course.

stewart_garden: Yeah, I noticed that myself at one stage but it was OK a few minutes later. Anyway thanks for dropping by and hope you see a bit more than x next time

patfirefghtr: Well if your comments didn't give it away, the links sure did  $%Grinno$% Thanks Pat, for the comments and the links.

sebes: Thanks Sebe, great to see you dropping by.

Blaxland

Well here are a couple pic's from Blaxland, one you may have already seen as I entered in the Pic Comp.

You may have noticed I have had a bit of trouble with the ploppable water at the top of the waterfalls. Still working on this,
will let you know if I find a solution.

Dapto

One more rural area, can't have too may farmers. No choice really, they breed like rabbits.
Watching the bulls and cows all day, what a turn on  $%Grinno$%

Thanks for everybody's continued support, it is most appreciated.

And as it is Remembrance Day there is only one way to finish:

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Lest we forget

Pat
