WOW Dave another update!!! SWEEETNESS!! lol Whats even worse about no graffite on those trains is there is none on those adverts for Regan and bush lol  :D  Great to see some more of Redcliffe!!

Don't forget the SC4D Podcast is back and live on Saturdays @ 12 noon CST!! -- The Podcast soon to Return Here Linkie

mightygoose

hell yes those avenue curves look sweet as, fantastic area around the Bingo hall?, good use of maxis stuff. haven't been here in a while will have to go back and catch up somewhat.
NAM + CAM + RAM + SAM, that's how I roll....

nerdly_dood

My one recommendation is to extend the outer pair of OWRs to the roundabout around that monument in Redcliffe - your current setup creates a major bottleneck as 10 lanes suddenly turns into 4 with the highway/avenue transition and the OWR merge, and this would not decrease any accessibility but there may be a tree or two in the way.

Apart from that everything looks positively marvelous.

And where'd you get the Reagan/Bush billboard? That seems just the teeniest bit outdated to me ;D
My days here are numbered. It's been great and I've had a lot of fun, but I've moved on to bigger and better things.

Balnavia updates may have been a bit scarce in weeks past, but there's no shortage of the unequivocal tooheys style and sharp humor in this latest offering!

Redcliffe has, indeed, really taken off, and the first two photos are a fitting introduction to a splendid comeback. The campus looks great - well designed - and the overview really shows it off. I like those light green trees you're using.

The recent growth in the CBD is remarkable, along with the fact it's mostly growable. You have an enviable selection of BATs. I'm not entirely convinced a single avenue is adequate to serve an island with so many jobs. But it's entirely possible the subways and ferries take up the slack, although I don't see a ferry terminal on the mainland side. Probably just quirk in the photo angle or my declining vision!

And your shorelines are classic – those huge boulders remind me of some gorgeous Australian scenery I've seen in photos. As for the political signage, it doesn't get any better worse than this!

Later... :)

Pat: lol Pat. The billboards are randomly generated but I really should bulldoze the outdated
political ones, but then again they do cause a stir  :D

mightygoose: thanks mg, great to see you dropping by.

nerdly_dood: Agree, once it is pointed out it is a rather obvious potential bottleneck. Thanks for the
feedback

Pic 8  ;) Surprisingly the traffic moves quite well, the bridge is never quiet but
it's not maxed out. The subway carries just enough sims to keep the area out of gridlock.

Hawks Nest

Time for a final visit to Hawks Nest. The last couple of visits highlighted the industrial area and development of the
small island. Time to have a look at what has been going on across the bridge.

This area mainly comprises low density residential development.

By far the most popular area is the Black Fern Pond estate. It is rumoured that on a still,
moonless night the ghosts of expats past float across the lake reciting "Ka mate! Ka mate!
Ka ora! Ka ora!............." If that's not bad enough there is a bearded fella chasing them singing "Hey
True Blue, don't say you've gone Say you've knocked off for a smoko...........  " Ohh the pain  $%Grinno$%
(If you don't understand, I really don't blame you.  %confuso I'll shut up now)

Hope you like, and if not let me know why, always looking for feedback.

Cheers

Dave

Hi Dave!
Long time no see as you said so truely in your PM. Well, 2008 wasn't really my year and untill now 2009 isn't either ...  ()sad()

... anyway - let's go down to business ...

... and I told you - holiday is over!  $%Grinno$%

I start on page 43 (I know there's more I missed ...  /wrrd%&) with the first update:

Ooops - not much space left on that map!
Nice roundabout at the Jefferson's - from an archetctural point nice, but roundabouts within the roundabout - I do hope people there have robust stomaches!  :D

Nice industry at Hawk's nest. I do like how you do the continuing to the neighbour map.

Just one questions: Instead of gowing up and down between the bridge ramps and the onramps why don't you just build a dam, use the (not so) new onramp pieces for the highway and stay more or less on the same level? Wouldn't that be more practical and eventually look better?  ;)

Second update:

What's left to say except great work? I did always admire your shorelines!

Third Update:

Holy (*censored*)! Redcliffe really did take off! Even the repetition of that Maxis building in the seddlement left off the big roundabout looks good - saw a lot of these seddlements in Turkey (actually they never reached your class in ages!)  :shocked2:

Nice railyards there - I just don't like the add with the two presidents there even though the father was much more clever and integer than his son ...

Nice skyscraper jungle on that island - and it seems Balnavia is a car driver's place with all these elegant curved avenues!

Great work with the different seawalls at the ferry terminals BTW!

First update page 44:

Nice low density environment! These are diggis' streams, aren't they? They do look better than their forerunner modell from someone that lost a lot of if not to say all anticipation by me during the last weeks ...

Si, that'S it for today - hope you don't have to wait too long for the next time and that you enjoyed your holidays!

Take care my friend!

Bernhard

Beautiful neighborhood. I really like this small river
Thank you for visiting Kolbrów, and for being for last ten years!

bob56

very nice!!! love the embanks road in the first pic...and I also think the MAxis highways look great in your context!! I think the curves you have a good!

One suggestion...IMHO, I'd get rid of the arrows on the roundabout

Ah yes, another update - the captain is back at the helm! Black Fern pond estate is loverly despite the accompanying recital. You always do a great job with the canals. You always create some magnificent coastlines, too - that first photo is a classic beauty. The neighborhoods aren't too shabby either, and I always look at your ferries with great admiration and a twinge of envy! :)

The fourth pic is especially attractive for some reason. Maybe it's the way you've incorporated the curves into an otherwise griddy layout. You're one of few players who have mastered that technique. It's been a pleasure to visit Hawk's Nest and I'll be sure to save a few snapshots.

Nardo69: Good to hear from you again Bernhard. I can always count on you for a hard hitting review and believe me, I
read every word. Wishing you well my friend.

You have a point there, they are ugly, now if I could only work out how to remove them. Appreciate the feedback.

Jmouse: Captain ?...that may be a little above my paygrade  :) Thanks Joan

TheTeaCat: Thanks Derry. Not bad for a Bingo Hall is it. A bit of a drain on city
funds but you have to cater for the grey vote  ;)

bat: Hi bat, another quad down, dozens to go. Thanks for the ongoing support.

Sciurus: Guillaume, thanks. Appreciate the comments.

Pat: No promises they won't come back Pat  $%#Ninj2

Sussex Inlet

Well a little bit of a sidetrack. PEG had a few new lot's out so I had to play with them.
So Sussex inlet is born.  Some new PEG lots, some old PEG lots and a bit of LE work to create some
comparible park lots. So here are half a dozen pic's or so, hope you enjoy.

Well I'm still working on other quads, but it may be a couple of weeks until the next update because I
have some GRVII work to do.

Cheers

Dave

Some great pictures of "Sussex Inlet" which looks beautiful!!

Dave, that first pic is a knockout! You have an excellent sense of balance, at least in game! :) I'm going to guess that you carved that inlet out of a solid piece of ground, but there's no guesswork about the grand job you did on it. You've used similar ideas before and they've all turned out well.

The roundabout in the second photo
is one of the best I've ever seen in Balnavia, and getting it to work out right had to be pretty tricky. The buildings in the third pic are a little run-down looking for those beautiful surroundings, but everything else looks right at home.

As always, your eye for detail is incredible
– right down to the people fishing – and everything works well together.  Every time I see an update, I wonder how much was planned and how much was spontaneous. How I wish I could be a little mouse hidden in the corner watching you work. I have a good set of earplugs, BTW. ;D

Tooheys, I want to commend you on your road network over the past couple of pages.  You have some of the best fluidity that I've seen in the game with the FARR!  Keep up the great work!

Oh, and, of course, the city-building is top-notch too!

Check out Abelfarei!

Wow Dave, that little port looks really nice my friend, I like the waterfront, greatly done.
That is a great place to live in my friend. That remind me some of french cities in the south.

Looking forward to more.

Take Care,
-Arthur.
