Very nice work on the river Dave. The terraforming that went into this is awesome and, I suspect, frustrating and even a bit boring at times.

*Are we there yet? Are we there yet?*

I think you did a marvelous job on the water transition - it's one of the best I've seen - and I'm anxious to see what lies beyond the lower-right side of that second photo! Also very anxious to see how you deal with the surrounding area, and to learn how the river complex fits into the overall quad.

Hope RL situations work out well for you, but in the meantime, just post updates when you can and let us do the applauding!

QuoteAnd the ever troublesome transition. Not perfect but I don't think it looks too bad, let me know your thoughts, good
or bad. Yes there is a lot of water flowing out, but the gates only open when I take a pic

My thoughts about it are very good! :D
Don't worry and take a break if you need it! we will still here and and we will catch you immediately when we will see you around  :D

Hi Dave,

Good to see your work (as always).

That transition is superb.  Now I'd never have thought of that and yet now I see it, it's so obvious!!  So I have to say hats off and well done.

Take it easy mate and you know we'll be here whenever the next update comes along.

All the best,

Paul

Wow Dave! You're recreating Holland ! I'm referring to the waterlevel being higher than the surrounding farmlands, and held in place by the dykes. Also the transition looks awesome... great job man &apls

First of all, thanks for the great comments. This time round though there won't be any personal replies because
unfortunately Cattai as you know it suffered a major catastrophe and is no longer with us. Luckily the problem
was city related and Balnavia lives on. Cattai has risen from the ashes, the initial development remains around the
river lots although the layout is a tad different.

Thanks again and I hope you like Cattai take 2.

So as before, river below the dam and lake above. The right side is LW residential while to the left is the start of the
National Park. Park and walk, get in free. Drive in will cost you a $ or two.

The residential area, unusually green for me  $%Grinno$%

If you like a bit of exercise you can take the trail through the hills and around the lake.
Have a bit of natural padding, you can  hire a horse and in a hurry, well, just drive.

Of course you can stay in the park, rough it at the camp sites or hire a cabin.

Pick the latter, you still have to lug your supplies to the cabins, there is no road access.
A horse helps, it can handle 2 kegs with no problem  ::)

The park entrance from a different angle and the residential community nearby.

So there you have it, still a bit more work to do around the lake and then I'll show a  a picture
of the area. Hope you like.

Cheers

Dave

What a great update you have made here, Dave! The combination of PEG's MTP, Mas' JRP and the overall parks make it look like a great place to live spend a vacation in. The railway line looks splendid as well, and the bridge seems like it was designed just to be built there, excellent fit.

Great use of the birdge over the river. It really fits that spot well. The JPN walls are great, especially as shown in the third pic. I think I could spend some tim eup at one of those cabins (might take a few horses though). You've done an excellent job with the park, and if the lake is anything like this little area you've shown, then we're in for a real treat next update. Sorry to hear of the loss of the first version, but this one doesn't seem any worse for wear.

Wonderful update. I'm really impressed by your canal.

Glad to see Cattai not only came back to life, but did so with a typical dash of tooheys panache!

The third and fourth photos
really show off the dramatic curves, and I like the way you've placed structures sparingly on the outcropping. The fifth is just so typical of the detail work Balnavia is famous for that it brings a nostalgic smile, and the last photo is a gem. Hope you'll enter it in the photo comp.

You're doing some really fine work
with both water and land, then combining the elements well. I know your game time is limited, but hope you'll continue to find some spare moments here and there to keep the tradition of Balnavia alive.

Great stuff Dave.  I really like this update.  Your use of the big grey rocks on land is very well done, they really add some "texture" to the area.

There are so many little details in the pics, that you can look at them many times and see something different each time.  I particularly like the multi-level spillway in the first shot.

Good to see Balnavia in action again.
