Problem with customers in commercial areas

Hi everyone. I can't seem to figure this out. I've placed commercial on a road that has 8000 commuters and the customers still are low. When I place the zone it says high, but as soon as buildings develop they go low again. I've got up to 12000 commuters on a road in other cities and still customers says low. However, residential areas still say high traffic noise when they've got that much commuters. I don't know if it's a glitch or something. I'm using NAM on ultra capacity, and the customers/trafic noise coefficient is 0.25.

Just a guess, but it could be that if the road is too congested it is affecting the customer density.  I would try upgrading the road to a road with more capacity so it has less congestion.  Just a suggestion.

It turned out that I had to download a patch, because NAM isn't fully compatible with the unpatched version. It's working fine now. Thanks for answering anyway.

Hi there!  I'm a total newbie to this community...I downloaded the NAM addon and suddenly my commercial zones all have "low" customers.  I haven't added any patch...jeff.hippie, what was the patch you installed to fix this problem?

Thanks!

I don't think there is a patch for what ails your city. There are different traffic controllers included with the NAM that I think can be chosen during installation. Traffic controllers offer different path finding, speed variables, or change distance a Sim will walk to a bus stop before deciding to drive. That sort of thing. My suggestion is to try a different controller. Here's a shot from my NAM folder. I use Z_Ultra. That is what I'd do if I had your problem - change the traffic controller. See if there is an improvement. The second thing I'd do is to redirect traffic past the commercial buildings through the use of creative street building. Personally, I usually do not pay attention to customer traffic. A more important thing to know is whether your Sims are finding employment in the commercial buildings. Finding the right balance so you do not have excess buildings with no workers or visa verse, not enough commercials for the workforce leading to unemployment.
