Thanks to all for the nice comments!!!

Well, finally I can announce that my buildings have been uploaded to the LEX. Thanks to all for your help and support! It's been a long way, but we've arrived home!!

:bnn:  :bnn:
(I hope everything works fine!!!)

If you find any issue, please contact me. My acknowledgements to 11241036, who was so kind to test the props and lots.

This is AWESOME, THANKS YOU SO MUCH  :bnn: :bnn: :bnn:

romualdillo

Thank you manga rivotra!!!

I was so excited by the uploading that I couldn't wait to post the rest of things I've been doing  :P :

First the R$$ houses. If everything looks OK I'll start with the corner versions:

Next, a new building I've been modelling lately:

It's a small market building (1x3 lot). It's based on the market building in Santoña, Cantabria, Spain. I think I'm going to mod it as a ploppable CS$. What do you think?

And, I haven't forgotten this:

It's huge, and it needs a lot of time.

I hope you like everything!!!

Awesome!  &apls I was looking for something like this as I am working in a mediterranean-iberian city, and I feel that this buildings will help me to get rid of several low density areas. Those R$$ and the market look as good as your R$ buildings. And the last project... Is it a town hall, isn't it? Beautiful theatre  :P

Mi inglés no es el mejor del mundo...  ;D Sigue así!

carlfatal

First a huge thank you for the first set!   &apls

And yeah, I remember the old abandoned theatre! What happened in the meantime? Will this building be saved and reactivated? Also the market building looks interesting with all the substructures.
Keep up your awesome work!

c.p.

One small question. Your bats how bi are they ? Wondering how far its set back from the lot bordery is your bats ?

Might take up some old w2w's....!

romualdillo

Thank you all for your nice comments!!!!

carlfatal: Sadly the building is still abandoned. There are plans to rebuild it, but there is nothing definitive by now.

vester: I'll try to answer your question.

The models are 8x24m (perhaps a bit longer or shorter, it depends on the model). The basements are longer due to the stairs.

The LOD boxes are bigger. They're 1m longer to the front and 2m longer to the back. As they're slope friendly, the LOD box has to be bigger than the model to prevent the building of getting half buried by the slope. I raise the building half meter (0,5 x 1,33) from the ground level for the same purpose. The basements are different: the LOD boxes need to be exactly the same size and shape as the model, because it "touches" the ground.
Aaron Graham explains it perfectly.

Perhaps the prop size is the most important thing. If the prop size is bigger than the lot, the model won't light up. I always change the prop size to 6x6x6 or even smaller if I need to. Then you can put them almost everywhere without any problem. In this case the props are overhanging props, the LOD gets out of the lot (facades, stairs...), but the prop's shape doesn't, and everyhing works fine.

I hope it helps...  ;) I learnt all this from c.p., he's the expert.
You can look at his thread Creating a Single Prop from Multiple Models, to see how the buildings an the basements are put together.

Now the Market Hall:

I don't know why, but the lights are projected only on one side of the building. I think it has to do with gmax way of rendering. Should I take out the interior lights? The building looks a bit strange this way, but I don't know how to solve it. The building looks exactly the same in both sides. Materials and faces are the same too.

vester

Have you tried to merge the model into a new file ?

For some strange reason, this helps on a lot of the not so easy explained problems.

Love your market.
Maybe a time version of this, with the doors open at daytime ?

manga rivotra

One again your model is perfect  &apls &apls &apls.
Ironworks are extraordinarily reproduced, specially the motive for the central gate. :)
Could you please, make one or two additionals versions with different colors, because there isn't a lot of market in the game yet ?

vortext

Bit late to the party but huge congrats on the release!!  &apls

Finally had chance to load it in SC4PIM today. So. Many. Garden. Props.  :o  %BUd%

Even though I followed development closely the level of awesomeness of unique models x variety + foundations didn't quite register until now. +1

As for the latest addition, the market hall is very nice indeed. Though I can't help but wonder how a larger variant would look. .  ::)

The Market Hall looks great, the only thing I would consider doing would be removal of one of the cupolas and transforming that side of the building into something like service entrance. But that's just a suggestion, it looks very nice anyway! :)

romualdillo

vester: I tried, but I had to change the lights in the end. Thank you for your advice. And about the door, well, wait and see...  ;)

manga rivotra: Thank you!! I plan to do other versions, and upload everything in the next release, if I forget how much time it needed to render...  :D

vortext: Thank you!!! And thanks for the K-point!! I don't plan to do a bigger version, but there are plenty of bigger market halls in Spain I may reproduce...  ::)

seraf: Thank you!! Well, the small doors are already service entrances. The real building is really small and simple, and has no service areas.

Well, as I said I changed the lights, changed the glass transparency and reflection of the glass canopy, made a timed prop, and put it in a "friendly" environment. I hope you like it!!!:

carlfatal

The market hall is absolutely wonderful. And together with the other buildings... a sensation!   &apls

reddonquixote

Wow I really love those entrance turrets with the cupolas.. very nice work my friend
Pay heed to the tales of old wives. It may well be that they alone keep in memory what it was once needful for the wise to know.
