You can use Irfanview to take screencaptures of. Open Irfanview, press C. Then you can set up any key combination and make it save the pictures taken. Easy and quick and directly into jpg.

Hmm, this is weird. Kenny's model must have gone messed up or something like this, because the 2nd class double-decker cars should look exactly like the 1st class cars, the only difference is that they do not have the yellow stripe, but a white one (as shown in the cars at the top of Bernhard's screenshot). The dark red texture looks more like the one from the other engine that Kenny has created; could it be possible that it slipped into the car's gmax model folder by accident? Probably it has the same filename, so the gmax model got messed up this way.

EDIT: I just talked to Kenny, and he said that he might have mixed up the texture files. He will submit the most current file to the team exchange soon, and he also apologizes for the additional work he caused. But I think the German community will appreciate the fix, so I guess a big "thank you" from the whole SFBT is apt. :)

SRY Swamper, it's all my blame. I had click on the wrong texture  :'(

I messed up...
I have a new Version of the 2. class in my folder: S-Bahn_Dosto_second_car.rar. I would really appreciate it if you would bring it into the game even though I did make a big mistake you weren't able to know about. But we are all pushing pebbles here.  I am very sorry for your unconvenience.

Okay, I put this at the front of my queue for projects that I am doing today. I have fixed the problem with the GMAX model and rebuilt the skin for the Second Class Car for the Regional Runner Train Set. Here's how the train looks now:

The white-striped car is the Second Class Car.

I have updated the LEX image and the zip file for the download: Regional Runner Train Set
I hope this meets the satisfaction of the German train enthusiasts of the SC4D community. :)

Now that looks much better! I think I'll use that style for intercity services - it shouldn't be hard to change the colours to blue, grey and white. :P

I have a question regarding the replacement of the steam train:

I found some possible candidates from MSTS freeware but as for my favourite class 52 they do have coal tenders.
You said before that a coal tender as a special car is not possible, but what if the whole machine is modelled as one piece including coal tender?
If modelled as one piece what would be the maximum length?
If it was 24m like the passenger cars it might/should work otherwise I am goıng to get a smaller (and less universe) machine.

I'm going to say that the maximum length of any train unit (car or engine) is 24 meters. The engine and tender car can be modeled as one unit for SC4 purposes, but it will look funny when it travels through switches and the Maxis rail curves. An ideal replacement unit for the steam engine is one that has a coal box at the back of the cab as part of the engine.

I had a day off work today, thanks to my inability to keep dates straight. I requested this Thursday off instead of Friday last week. I won't be having much fun this weekend since tomorrow is a friend's party at a casino in Marysville with a bunch of friends that she and I both hang out with on Sundays. So I used today to get a bunch of things done. My car went into the shop earlier today since I was overdue for maintenance and an oil change. I now have functioning A/C in my car and summer is almost over.

On the SC4 front, I created some new content for myself for my region I have been playing with:


I recycled one of the many vehicle models I have parked in my system for this one. It has functioning headlights and rotating lights on the roof. Additional only at this point, and I'm considering making it an override for the default police car.


One of several vehicle models I have downloaded. This one also has working headlights. I modified the initial model a bit in GMAX and I am still tinkering with its behavior for SC4's usage. This one is an additional as well. The blue lights appear differently than the SC4 default because I made a texture override for the Maxis blue light image. It is now similar in appearance to the Maxis red light image.

Let me know what you think of these two new units..... &mmm

omg Jan... those are soo much better then even pegs cop car replacement mod... I love the SUV model...since its a additional model and not replacement is there a way to put "supervisor" on the side or any markings?

Hi Swamper,

Now that the German train is done, do you still plan to go back at some point and "fix" those Oppie train cars that are too long and get stuck going around curves?

I really like the SUV model, excellent job. :thumbsup:

I don't like the cop car as much...I don't know, it just looks odd. I think it's the bright symbol on the side of the vehicle. Anything is better then the Maxis cop car, though. :D

i do like the jeep model, but can you make the size a tad smaller, it looks huge compared to the other SUV's in the game.

Is it possible to make freight trains with more german models like you`ve done with Kenny`s models ? And is it possible to make different trains, like only a freight train with coal waggons and with different waggons ?
