Hi everyone!

I've run into a problem, with a texture that for no apparent reason looks differently in SC4 than it did in LE:

So, what I'm trying to do is a TE'd STR lot that with a straight STR as overlay (0x5d3; below in image), combined with what will be a transparent base texture. The problem is that the texture that appears as a straight rail in the LE magically transforms into a diagonal rail stub ingame.

What puzzles me is that it is the very same texture (checked with the reader) as is used in rivit's STR tunnel portal, which shows up perfectly alright. My first thought was that the texture was overridden by some replacement. Rivit's lot loads somewhere in the middle of the plugins folder (at T) and I've tried both to load my lot first (directly in \Plugins folder) and last (at ZZ), but to no avail. But yet, if the texture is overridden, it should appear on all lots, no matter if the lot loads before or after the possible override, shouldn't it? So, then, just because, well, I dunno why not, I checked what happened to the neighbouring STR overlay textures... ALL of them are changed into this diagonal rail stub. What could possibly cause this?

The thing is, I really can't figure out why the texture changes between the LE and SC4. Do they load files differently? To avoid the problem I tried to use another STR overlay, 0xf7b30020 (above in image), which shows up fine, but on the other hand really doesn't fit aesthetically (as you can see). What could be the cause and what could I do to solve this?

Many thanks in advance!

If I remember correctly, the NAM texture for the STR straight and diagonals have been allocated ID's for wealth. Thus whatever texture appears will be dependent on the wealth of the lot. If you change this between none, $, $$, $$$ then one of them should bring the correct texture you are looking for.

That was it! I changed the lot wealth to none, and now all is well again. Thanks mgb204 &apls

I converted a GLR tunnel model into STR a while back, after realising I'd given an STR spur nowhere to go. I quickly ran into the same trouble.

PIM-X shows you a preview of any multi-wealth or multi-fsh textures. So it was obvious where the problem was coming from in my case.
