Argh, SC4's recalcitrance with inside D1 ramps is driving me batty!!!

Ahoy there, everybody!  I am having a difficult time shutting my mind down so I can sleep -- and in getting SC4 to understand that I want a D1 Inside entrance ramp.  When I draw a D1 ramp with my mouse, the screen capture is what happens.  I am not interested in a two way highway; I am trying to draw an entrance ramp to the turnaround so that motorists have a choice about whether to continue south or not.  I would also like to add an onramp to the collector road (which I demolished to add the entrance ramp); still, that will have to wait until after I get the whole matter with this inside D1 ramp sorted out. Worse, when I draw a RHW 4S through the bump, I end up with an inside A1 ramp which is not what I am after ... a little help here, please

I think your problem is that there is a different pattern used for the RHW4 - 2xMIS D1 and the RHW2 - 2xMIS D1. One obviously must have lanes that travel in opposite directions, whereas the other has both lanes in the same direction. If you are really stuck, rather than dragging, use the FlexRamps version instead.

I have decided to tinker with this some more while waiting out the cooldown in another game world and the provided screen capture is what I ended up with.  Even if I do get the D1 Flex Ramp to cooperate with how I want it positioned, how do I modify it into an inside ramp?

Here are the ramp patterns.  You'll need kind of a blended diagonal bend in there with the disconnector instead of a purely orthogonal 90-degree bend.  This video might also help:

Tarkus, I am touched with how you are standing by the NAM by sending me the mouse drag ramp patterns.  I did watch through the attached video several times -- most of which I paused the video to emulate the tutelage in SC4.  I easily located the D-X2 ramp but have been rather disappointed with the results of the disconnect-and-redraw technique -- an A1 ramp for my trouble.  It looks like I will have to relegate that to an upgrade package in the near future.

Using the "Lower Terrain" button, I have been able to replace the monorail bridge that got demolished when I mistakenly excavated a 30 meter trench on the northern shore of the bay; still, I have not been able to get the RHW bridges I wanted when I availed the Diagonal Bridge Enabler the other night.  I have placed a tile between the carriageways and the collectors; still, SC4 does not wish to cooperate ...

In any case, gratitude for the mouse drag diagram!!!

Unless you want diagonal bridges, most RHW bridges can be drawn with the MHW or RHW tool by dragging across the water.

If you have a custom terrain mod, you can change the sea level parameter in the Reader tool to drain your water without affecting network slopes (which the DBE does modify). If you drain the water this way, you can then use RHW viaducts to cross the water and then put the water back in by restoring the sea level value of your terrain to the default of 250m
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

APSMS ... that is a good fact to be aware of and I shall look into that once things in RL settle down a bit to where I have a clear idea of what I have to make happen; still, I need to import some more counsel.

The good news is that after a lot of mouse drags and clicks, I finally got SC4 to listen to me regarding inside D1 ramps!!!  I am in seventh heaven ... or, rather I would be if not for the situation indicated in the attached screen capture.  As you can see, I wanted to add in an on-ramp for my Sims to enjoy my handiwork with the RHW after getting the matter of the D1 inside ramp sorted out.  I wanted to avail a D1 ramp to add a lane to the  RHW 4S collector as it is heading south toward the 8S D2 divergence to either join the express lanes or avail the turnaround (another problem, but one thing at a time); still, SC4 disagrees with that plan.  What should I do now?
