As promised, I have found a little time to continue rebuilding and updating the Qumma MD. I have rebuilt Khaymeh and the Khaymeh Oil Refinery, and personally, I like the new one better. After this update, I will get back to my normal updates, with the continuation of the story and little tidbits and such. Do enjoy!

WoW Nedalezz i love those nite shots, they are simply beautiful!!!!

Don't forget the SC4D Podcast is back and live on Saturdays @ 12 noon CST!! -- The Podcast soon to Return Here Linkie

thundercrack83

Wow! Phenomenal, my friend! I don't know if I mentioned it before or not, but I love the desert mod you're using for the ground. It looks fantastic! Keep up the good work!

Jmouse

nedalezz, it is just awesome to see the differences in what I'm used to and what exists halfway around the world. In the middle-class neighborhoods where I've lived, I've seen either a striking mixture of architectural styles or rows of houses shaped like Premium Saltine boxes and distinguished only by the color of their brick exterior. In Khaymeh, however, the buildings are close together and identical. Seeing the different creative approaches is part of the fun we have here at SC4D, though.
And didn't I tell you you'd like the new one better than the old one! ()stsfd()

Until next time...

Great work on this update.  I reall ylike the feeling I get when looking at these pics.  The town looks very realistic.  I like the irregular shape of the over all town and the fact that it is away from the industrial area a bit.  I think the oil pipes may look better if they were to come together at some point close to the factory, unless they curve off in two totally different directions.  Reason being, it would be cheaper to build on one small narrow porperty than on two.  Just my imagination, I don't know if this is true or not.  I love the dessert look as well, very good my friend.

Fantastic new pictures of Qumma! Looking forward to more...

Hi Nedelezz,

I really like the way that Fursan and Khayama look so different.  Two towns, both in the desert, both in the same region but you get them to look so very different - that is really good.

I think you have a pretty unique MD here, so I am looking forward to seeing the region grow even more.

Yoman

I too like the new one more, I think its realistic that there is no railroad anymore as its just a small refinery. As always keep up the great work and I look forward to your next update :)

nedalezz

Well, still in the middle of my business trip to China, but I did manage to find some time to play while taking a 4 hour car ride from one city to the other! I worked on the new Fursan Oil Port, and I have come up with something larger and more realistic. All thanks goes out to SOMY and his wonderful BATS that made the port what it is. Enjoy!

Jmouse

Oh yes, you've done a fine job on your port, nedalezz. It does look very realistic and functional. Keep up the good work!

Until next time...

Very nice update and great effect used on the pics.  The port does look realistic, I just wish I could see more pictures.

Stunning work on this oil port, nedalezz! I love the contrast between the desert terrain and the water with the sun reflecting off it. Great stuff! Hope all is going well in China!

Yoman

Hope all is well in China, sounds like it is. Great new rendition on the port, I'm glad that link helped you, his stuff is great :D Just to let you know those are natural gas tankers, not oil, bah who cares it still looks awesome.

Also I have another suggestion, I'm not sure if you've considered it before but custom water texture as opposed to the maxis one you use now?

I just want to say thank you to all the commenters on this MD, you guys are the inspiration! I had time for one more update before I left China, so I hope you guys enjoy! I dont have time now, however, for personal replies, but thank you to Yoman for presenting me with the SOMY links, and also thundercrack, rooker, and Jmouse.

UPDATE FOURTEEN
END OF THE 4TH YEAR

Its been 4 years since Berber Dawa took over the reigns in Qumma and began developing the region, and a lot of progress has been made. The population of Fursan has grown from 530 to nearly 14,000, and the tiny oasis village of Khaymeh has skyrocketed to over 5,000 people. In all, there is approximately 20,000 officially registered residence of Qumma.

Dawa'a vision of producing an oil empire in the land also came to life, as the QEC has now begun operation of two oil refineries: the Khaymeh Oil Refinery and the Cevella Oil Refinery. Both facilities have a pipeline that runs directly to the Fursan Oil Port, also operated and fully owned by the QEC.

The QOM (Qumma Oil Ministry), a division of the QEC, is in charge of all affairs to do with the natural resource, and are currently constructing their head offices in Khaymeh, closer to the refineries. As for Fursan, its main reliance continues to be fishing, with export numbers small but growing. There has been a growing commercial sector, however, with quite a few restaurants, bars, and inns opening up throughout the town.

These are some very nice updates you have made, great work on the oil installations and these cities in the desert.

REPLIES

rooker1: Thanks! Just tell me pictures of what you want to see, I'll gladly work out a few new angles and present them!

Yoman: Actually, Im looking for a new water mod, but I havent used any because all the ones Ive seen havent really grabbed me and said to me "Im the one." Im very open to suggestions, so if you have any ideas, please let me know!

Jmouse: Thankfully, it seemed like a good trip, business-wise. Thank you for your ever encouraging comments!

kwakelaar: Thank you! There are currently 2 refineries in operation in Qumma; the Khaymeh Oil Refinery, and the Cevella Oil Refinery, a few miles to the west of Khaymeh. As for the town itself, I think its going to experience some rapid growth.

thundercrack83: Thank you for the compliments! I like doing little information stuff because I feel it brings the MD more to life.

Next update should be in the 5-7 days; I left China, but now im in Dubai, also on business. Will be here until the 4th, but hopefully I can find time for an update in between.

Yoman

Hope you have a fun time in Dubai even if it is business. Such an incredible city.

Your combination of the new Night Mod and Micklebear's lots are stunning, very inspiring and I look forward to your future progress :) Also if I see a mod I'll be sure to remember the link and post it here for you :)

EDIT - Have you taken a look at this one?

Schulmanator

Gotta say that this MD is awesome! You continue to push the envelope of what SC4 can do for a custom look. Excellent!
