Recommended capacity for a school in CAM?

I have a Hogwarts Mini School from ralphaelninja (I think), which can hold 13,000 students. There's always a strike outside because the school is holding 20,000 students, something I attribute to the CAM.

Is there a way to modify the value to about 21,000 and not disturb the current Mini Schools? What capacity would you recommend?

BarbyW

The Hogwarts School has always had problems that are nothing to do with CAM. I gave up using it a long time ago and suggest you do too.

Since the Hogwarts Mini School educates all ages of your population to full EQ, one such school will become crowded as soon as your city population exceeds the capacity of your Hogwarts. However, I would refrain from changing the capacity. That would only lead to the Phantom Funding Sliders Bug.

Instead I would build another Hogwarts Mini School.

Is there a high-capacity (15 to 25,000) school I can substitute?

Definitely not with that a small lot size, 1×1

So, the problem isn't CAM, but it's the population all being educated? Sounds like it needs to be modded...and could use a whole new BAT.

Sounds like you have just appointed yourself.

I really can't BAT. It's probably a BSC-somebody job. (Are you listening?)

Its nobodies job. If you want something, you either make it yourself or post a request in the appropriate forum.

The Hogwarts Mini School is already heavily modded.
It's a cheat that gives your entire population maximum EQ over night.

Sounds like a very badly modded lot IMHO.  Maybe it should be modded accordingly and re-uploaded with a more suitable effect rather than being a cheater lot.

Actually, it's rather ingeniously modded, with the sole purpose of getting a high EQ. &idea
I use it a lot when I want to simulate supply and demand with maximum EQ (did that when developing CAM as well).

But if you're going for realism, don't even consider it. $%Grinno$%

I envision a revised Hogwarts Mini School (I mainly like the space-saving factor) on a 3x1 lot that acts as a K-12 school and does not educate all of the population. New BAT, of course. I also envision a 3x2 college made to look similar to the revised HMS (probably could be called something else).

I envision Tracker opening up one of the following tools: ilive reader, Lot Editor, SC4Tool, BAT  ...

I don't have the confidence to even go in BAT. I definitely will modify the Hogwarts school, because I have SC4Tool.

One question: would existing HMS schools get the changes from SC4Tool?

Xiziz

you could allways use the standard model, create a new sc4-desc and input the values of the standard school(or whatever values you wish), then lot it up yourself, ive remodded all coustum schools ive got to provide a more realistic value, and increase the range of schoolbusses(for rural tiles, in towns you rarely see them imo).
As the standard of busses collecting everyone within 1km is rather lame, from my experience people walk 1km to school instead of the bus, i mean, ive got 2.9km my local bustop(where the primary/secondary schoolbusses go from too), and the school is 10km away from home, and i live in a villa estate "close" to Stockholm. though 10km dosnt work in sc4, it atleast fills an entire tile, and for schools in urban areas you just turn the schoolbusses off and get the small radius for making sure it dosnt go on strike because its too crowded.

Should be a fairly straigtforward modding done with Ilive's "Leprop" or "Reader", alternatily that you mod the sc4desc file with pluginman(from maxis).
