Huh!  A while back when Peg asked his regulars what they most wanted I said a lock for the large canals so the scows could get to the ocean.  He promptly slapped me upside the head and said scows couldn't go into the ocean because they would swamp to easy!  (Like I knew?)  Good for you and your editing abilities!  &apls &apls &apls I won't tell! $%Grinno$%

Your port is overshadowed only by the massive amount of time and effort you've put into explaining it to us! Very good work, my friend! And I saw the "trailer trees," I hate when that happens. Keep up the fantastic work!

What have I been missing out on?

A lot. This is a hidden gem, and it's quite charming... especially the Japanese island back on page 8.

We rarely get to this kind of well layed out ports, pure enjoyment with this level of details and variations.

Badsim

I'm still in awe ...
You know may be I'm patient with LotEditor , but at the same time I'm missing such great creations ... as I'm not planning a seaport , I don't follow creators' work on this subject-matter . Oh , and my plugin files is already upper than 2,2 Go ... $%Grinno$%
Well , it's a pleasure to contemplate your work .... ;)

Emil-

That does it!  I am never looking at another port again.  Ever.  Period.  I've seen the best one there is- there's just all the rest left.

You ARE the Harbor Master.  You OWN SC4 ports.

Other than that, nice update.

Man o man.
I've never really been into ports, but wow, this is something else.
The shots detailing who's stuff is what, and the amount of customizing you have put into it,
well, the final result is just fantastic.
Great work, and great presentation!!

That has to be the best seaport I have ever seen.  Great work.  This is what I have in mind for my MD, but I don't think it will look as good as yours.  Wow, excellent job. &apls  &apls

Just wanted to let you guys know that parts 1-4 of the port tutorial are now available in the tutorials section here.

Last part coming up in, well... let's say "a few days" unless real life interferes. ;D

Nice work emilin. I'm following that thread very interested on it. ;)

I'm only half way through the Santiago port yet, but I'm getting there. I will do the personal replies now, and if someone could find it in their heart to push me over the 200 mark I'll through in a round of night shots when I get off work. ;D

Personal replies:

NikNik: Already redirected, but also: thank you for visiting. And a word of warning about the shipyard: the Fukuda shipwreck is a wonderful looking creation, but it is a rather early BAT and has some disturbing modding issues. It messes up the icons of other plugins in the menu, and removes some double reward/landmark items from the reward menu. It could be some unforseen conflict that effected me only, due to my plugins folder being full of other obscure, early BAT:s, though.

Cali: Thanks a lot! And thanks for congratulations for me making mayor too!

Fred_Ginger: Hehe... he is perfectly right about that. Scows are defined by having flatbottom hulls and would certainly be tipped over by ocean waves. Two things should be noted about Pegs scows though: 1. Not being able to travel the high seas does not mean that they should be unable to travel "gamewater" - this particular scow is travelling inside harbour waters and goin up a river. *and now we lower our voices* 2. They don't really look much like scows to me, more like small cargo vessels of some sort, so I often use them as such.

zniehadajet: Thanks! My plugins folder is my main cause of stress in life, actually. It's a constant mess of conflicting textures and doublettes. The Cleanitol has been a tremendous help, however, so lately things are starting to look much better. And of course, thank you for the congratulations too!

Shadow Assassin: Thank you so much! Glad to see you stop by SC4Devotion every once in a while. I would be commenting more over at ST too if the lag wasn't so bad right now.

kwakelaar: Thank you! I really like your avatar, by the way. Is it your dog? Looks really sweet!

Badsim: Thank you for your encouragement! My own plugins folder is a bit messy, but nowhere near 2.2 G. With the DAT-packer I managed to get it down to just above 1 G, actually. But I've cleaned out most of my skyscrapers (save 5-6 items) which probably was my main source of crashes before Islas Gemas.

Naryanna: Thank you! I'm glad it was appriciated. And to see someone like you call it "perfect" is enough to keep me going for a long time to come.

sebes: Thanks a lot for those very kind words!

kimcar: Thank you! It took about two months to build, about 1-2 hours every night. But I probably spent more time just staring at the screen than actually doing any building. :satisfied:

dedgren: Thank you for your overwhelming support, David! "Harbor master" does have a nice ring to it, hehe... I can live with that. ;D

pvarcoe: Thank you so much! If anyone knows good detailing it most certainly is you, so if you say that, it really makes me very happy.

rooker1: Thanks! And nice to see more port enthusiasts on the forums. Looking forward to seeing how yours turn out.

Berethor: Thank you! I'll be going back to more latin stuff soon. I promise.

Rayden: Thanks! The next update isn't quite in the pipline yet, but soon to be, anyway...
