It's funny but I actually had this thought this month and I was thinking if the guys at SC4Devotion could create dinosaurs instead of the usual critters we see in the forest. Of course, dinosaurs need to fit in with jurassic plants. Imagine a city surrounded with a dinosaur infested forest. Wouldn't that make a great M.D.!:D Usually its a conifer forest that people put or palm trees or any present day plants but it would be nice to try something different.:D

I am sure that an admin / mod will delete my post if they consider it to be appropriate and / or undesirable, and accordingly I'm going to post this anyway.

Sorry if it seems like I'm targetting this at you specifically, but it's not as much against a particular individual as against an increasingly common mentality. This is, of course, only my personal opinion too.

But this mentality entails what seem to be preposterous and ridiculous requests that transcend the boundaries and limitations placed by the SC4 simulator, or a general impression that anything and everything can, should and deserve to ultimately be incorporated into SC4.

This particular request, while not being intrinsically wrong or not allowed, is a bit beyond the scope and reach of SC4 as a City Simulator and I am sure that there are other games and interfaces that will provide you with a more satisfying Jurassic Park experience and recreation than SC4 which is, essentially, bound to a grid, and the city-building concept.

Many of the serious contributors to this community are already hard-pressed for time and as such work on very tight time constraints and with very specific projects suited to their own interests and abilities. I think this is something that all future requesters should bare in mind. This is a very specific and niche audience request and end-product for which I doubt there will be any serious interest.

I am not discouraging you, I am however encouraging you to bare in mind a few other factors before making requests such as the few mentioned above.

If you can and are willing to generate enough interest - so much so that this can become like the SimMars addition to the game - then by all means proceed, but I personally think this is merely the tossing around of ideas which, despite generating possible initial excitement, euphoria and enthusiasm, never or rarely go anywhere substantive and meaningful.

This is, in my opinion, primarily a city simulator designed to simulate / recreate the social arrangement of humanity in associations such as villages, towns, cities and the like and the multi-faceted nature of that arrangement and all the resources it requires, features it exhibits and the intricate balance between the social and physical elements of this arrangement. In short, the game's purpose is quite clear, quite well defined and quite resilient and reluctant to change.

Good luck, nonetheless.

I guess I should've written if it was possible to make a Jurassic park themed city. Still, it is just a part of the game that we have not gone deep enough. Maybe, it is worth experimenting. I have another thread back their that I posted a day earlier than this. Maybe you can read my other thread, it's a problem that's worth experimenting.
