I also began the construction of the international port of Trieste. It is a port considered universally.

Trieste, as a frontier town and open on the sea, was during many years a town of important harbour commercial exchanges, and one of the largest ports of the Mediterranean. The port activity was strongly reduced during between two world wars but remains very present at the level of the harbour station and the various harbour installations of the north and the south of the city.
