Welcome to page 4

Very kool use of SimGoober's canals.    I like the terraced park, CabraBuitre.   I love the cascades with the stairs next to them.   Where did the stair lots come from?  I might have them and am just missing them.   I got a LOT of stuff in the parks menu.  LOL   If someone wanted to create a very useful mod, it would be one that I could change all those water based "parks" into "seaport menu" items.   Then I could spread um out a bit.

Nifty stuff!

The "stairs" are actually rapids.. and included with the narrow canal package.
When life just blows ... Fukitol!

CabraBuitre

The stairs that connect the BSC parks are from Marrast.  They're on the STEX under the BSC tag because they were lost after the last major upgrade.

The "cascade" like SG said, is from the narrow canal package.

I'm excited that you're considering expanding the canals SG!!

Wow, outstanding job, CabraBuitre! I love the tiered canal park you did especially! Keep up the good work!

Thanks SimGoober and CabraBuitre,
I did know about the "cascades" or "rapids" from the narrow canals.   I definately have them.   They are really great.   It is the park stuff I wondered about.   I didn't realize they were by Marrast.    What about the pedestrial bridges in the 1st and last pics from yesterday?   Are they his as well?
I can't seem to get enough of this stuff.

CabraBuitre

Gaston,

The ped bridges are props originally created by Swi21.  If you look on the STEX HERE but I imagine they will be moved over here in the future.  I created lots myself using the props, though I'm not sure which prop pack they're from at the moment...

There are two bridges, a stone one, and a brick one.  In my picks, I used the stone ones.  In Barby's lots in the link above, the brick one is highlighted.

Hope that helps!

Check out Abelfarei!

I need to start playing around with BSC parks again.  I downloaded one of the related packs when I was young and foolish and didn't know what dependencies were, so when the lots didn't show up right, I thought that they were broken $%Grinno$%  But now that I know more
(&scl()), I should probably start using them again.  Oh, right.  This thread is about canal stuff.  Here you go.

Very nice job with the narrow canals. Gives it a feel similar to Venice, California. I just realized that in my previous post I never posted the overview of that area. I just happened across it recently so...

NikNik

No modesty there Threestoges  $%Grinno$% Those three water towers on that little island LOL!

Nice to see SimGoober here. Welcome!

Nice close ups Bwatterup.

Great parks Cabrabruite! Good use of those cascades!

Thanks for the comments (if you have suggestions too, those would be good).
-NikNik: The idea behind the canals/towers is that the water towers are meant to be pumps that pull water from underground. The water comes from the sea, but the process of it moving back through the sand/dirt desalinizes (I don't know if that is actually possible, but why not. Water for the town is drawn from the canal and the leftovers are deposited back into the sea. Furthermore, the fact that the water moves through the canals to the sea results in it being warmed by the sun and raises the water temperature so that, when it enters the sea, the surround water is heated resulting in a popular swimming area for the locals.

very nice pics of the "Canal Land"  ;D great usage and a pretty cool idea
I'm nutty and I Bat and they're coming for me with the white coats again

SIMMANIA

Wow, lot of great works there ! Here's mine ! Well you won't see only the canal but still better than nothing. I should try to have some nearer pics....

threestooges

Even though the canal may not be the most notable part of the pic, it is certainly well-intergrated into the rest of the city. Is the lighting photoshopped in or should I be playing the game with day/night transitions on again? Great work.

sc4portugal

Great work, not just with the canals, but also with the cites  ;)
lol (sorry i can't think of anythig else lol)
