That just looks awesome. I don't know how I'd use them though, considering no one would want to leave my perfect cities to go to Alaska. ::) Can't wait for their release!!!
Best movie of all time: Ferris Bueller's Day Off. If you disagree, Cameron will send your car over a cliff.

Please, call me Leo.  I quote John Lennon now, a great musician and philosopher. Particularly, one of his songs: You may say I'm a dreamer. But I'm not the only one. I hope someday you join us, and the world will live as one.

Thanks ShadeSlayer, Cameron, and TopCliff -- and btw, your sims may be drawn to their other destinations, like Hawaii and Cancun ;)

For Tuesday we are pleased to announce the arrival of Malév, our first central European carrier :)
Malév is the flag carrier of Hungary, and one of the newest members of the oneWorld alliance.

Tomorrow, a new group of -800 series jets!

Looks good to me!!!  I'd better get seahawkfan_121 to see this. $%Grinno$%
That Alaskan Airlines is a -900??? :o

skyliner

Wow those are nice, a new livery a day? INSANE! ;D

portlandexpos04

That Alaska -900 is BEAUTIFUL!  Cant wait to download it and add it to my airports, I'm recreating Seattle and Portland and they'll fit in perfectly next to the Horizon CRJ and mike_oxlong's 737-300 at SEA and at PDX!

sEAhAwk fAn121

Weeee! Alaska! Seahawk is happy  :satisfied: The liverys look great volt! Can't wait till that sweet release.  :D

Yoman

That Malev wouldn't exist where it not for my incompetence in Photoshop when I originally got the livery packs from you volt :P Hooray for incompetence!  &hlp

Voltaire

:D Yoman... that would be a great bumper sticker... I may put that in my sig

Thank you pilotdaryl, skyliner, portlandexpos & seahawk!

Let's keep the insanity going, with a trio of 737-800s for Wednesday -- KLM and Aerosvit redux, and the Star Alliance logojet of Scandinavian Airlines System International. SAS, like all Star members, are required to have a logojet advertising their participation in the largest airline alliance in the world.

Tomorrow: More extra-stretch 900s

Oh, mah gawd. 4 livery's, 2 days. Awesome!

Love the Malév (never heard of the company :p).

KLM is amazing, Star Alliance is pretty sweet, and the other one is great as well.. so I guess what I'm saying is, you've outdone yourself again (yes, you too ace & xiziz :p).

A KLM -- seahawk's gonna be happy  $%Grinno$% I wasn't aware you guys were doing the -900 as well!  Nice!
Note: I've sent a PM to ace about the future of my 777 project since I plan to split it into two packs.  Since I'm kind of aiming for AC quality... I decided to send the PM so that I can find out how the lighting is done and if I can get a jetway model to attach to the 777.

Oh, and by the way, there doesn't appear to be any tail lighting on the Star Alliance plane.

Thanks again shadeslayer!

@pilotdaryl - unfortunately there's nothing for it -- the way gmax lights the thing, it just looks that way even with the light strength way up. This is the only black-tail livery we're doing so it's not an issue on anything else.

Now for today, we have a new addition to the KLM fleet plus a brand-new model, the Lion Air 737-900ER

The 739/ER is the ultimate development of the 737 series; volume deliveries started just last year. It was developed so Boeing could compete for shorter-haul roles originally held by the 757-200 and A321.

It's interesting to note the 737's fuselage design has now come full-circle, as the fuselage exterior is nearly identical to its 707 forebear. The advances in technology of the last 50 years let it do the same job as the 707-120, weighing 80000lbs less with half the engines.

I'm undecided on tomorrow's jet... couple things in the works of several models. So it'll be a surprise!

A surprise?  I have a feeling somebody's going to show a 757 model here. ;)  I understand your problems about lighting black surfaces.  Try posting this in the BAT Lighting Help Requests... I don't think I've seen any problems ligthing black surfaces.  This could be your game renderer that's causing the problem.

For Friday, we're adding another SkyTeam member, Continental Airlines, to the ACAircraft fleet.

OK, a word on the tail lighting -- it's not that we can't light a 'black' surface (actually 80% gray) -- the problem lies in the high-contrast nature of the design itself. Pouring light onto the dark gray will make the light cone visible -- at the expense of the star, which washes out or turns completely white. The Continental tail suffers from this effect (to a smaller degree) as well; turning up the light strength makes the cone visible against the blue background, but washes out the globe. Using the standard light strengths, the star and globe are evenly lit to the correct brightness, but the background colors hide the rest of the light cone. If the night & day materials could be separated (and the BAT recognized & rendered them) the problem could be solved by MSFS-style textures -- but unfortunately that's not the case.

Tomorrow, we'll move to the most Classic looking of the NG series... the 'thirty-shorty'

That sucks about the lighting. Great livery though.

Question, when are you guys going to do Westjet? It's my favorite airline.

cameron1991

Thats too bad about the lighting, but those planes still look really good!

pilotdaryl

Oh, I see.  That's too bad.  I'm looking forward to the -600!

When someone gets to it.

Volt - Looking great there, though I despise Continental 737s for their use on cross US routes.

ShadeSlayer guessed it -- for the Saturday release, it's a WestJet 736:

The combination of short fuselage (same length as a -200), with the new NG wings & engines, gives a retro look that's rare in modern jetliners. Tomorrow is up in the air, many -700s and -800s are yet to be shown! About 10 waiting to be rendered plus more on my wish list. We may have to go another week with this before switching to the A320  ;D
