Looking to download some custom content.

Can someone explain to me Cleanitol, CAM, Datpacker, & Ilives reader. If you can point me in the right direction, it would be appreciated.

capo

Well the right direction would be to read the topics in the forum about the CAM, Cleanitol, Datpacker and the reader. Many good tutorials and hints are posted there. Also read the read-me's provided with the stuff you download

If you have done that and still have specific questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Well, I'm trying to avoid downloading too many things like I did last time. It got confusing figuring out what I had. I'm really just wanting to know what these tools are for. If its something I could use, then I'll look them over. I'm really not a computer guy, so I've got to keep it simple or else my brain will blow &hlp.

Well in the help topics you will see what everything does, but here's a quick overview.

CAM: A giant mod that completely changes the gameplay, buildings get more growth stages and it's easier to build bigger cities.
Cleanitol: A tool to check if you have (outdated) dependencies.
Datpacker: A must have for plug-in folders of 1.5 GB and bigger. Datpacker compresses all loose files into single files shortening load times and preventing CTDs.
Ilives Reader: A tool to edit the properties of lots.

Thanks. Just what I wanted to know. Ilive sounds like something too difficult for me to use.

just one question: What are "loose files"?

capo

I meant all the files in your plug-ins folder when you installed buildings, mods, etc.

sorry, English isn't my native language :P

SC loads all these files seperately, datpacker compresses these files into a single file making the game load faster

Ahhh... sounds interesting. Thanks for the info. Sounds like something else I could use.

BTW, you may have used the correct term. Like I said, I'm not very good on computers.
