Hehe, your buildings are so symmetrical, I'm surprised your computer hasn't been struck by lightning yet! Nah, I'm kidding. Expect a PM soon.

Why not just BAT up a lower patio area that will extend to cover the needed area (kind of like an overlay texture, but part of the BAT itself) that way, the path could enter wherever it was needed. I know that it'll all turn out well though. Looking forward to what's next.

TopCliff:   :D  That's so true... I'm just a sucker for order, I guess.  Thanks for the picture... I'd love some more if you can find them.

Matt:  That is still the back up plan if I have to.  I don't think it will be necessary though...  "$Deal"$

So I tinkered and I nudged and I rearranged... and then realized I forgot something!  :bomb:  I'll worry about that later though.  The main thing is that the south and north sides are perfectly lined up in all directions now... as is everything else I've added today.  Maybe I'll post a picture with the paths roughed in later (just to show what I was talking about)  But anyway, here's a look at today's progress:

You can see I put the start of one more set of stairs in the south east corner.  I'm not entirely sure if I'll be using it yet or not.  It's a bit of an tight fit right there and most of what I've tried so far either looks forced or just tacked on as an after thought.  So we'll see if that lasts or not.  Besides that, I put the floors in just to brighten up the windows... they still need to be textured and fit around the glass wall.  Lots of details to add yet, but the main shape is finally there.  It doesn't look anything like what I originally expected... but I like it.  ::)

I like the stairs in the southeast corner. I know lots of universities where buildings have back entrances and stuff. Keep up the good work.

TopCliff:  Thanks!  Here's another look...

I got a small staircase to fit in the newest corner.  I still have to add some supports here and there, but I need those in a couple other places too still.   ::)  Here also is a rough look at how the paths all fit together...

Have a great night!

I really like this....for some reason this building really grabs me (by the ears) and forces me to look at it in detail......that's a home run in my book. &apls

The paths look great. I think you forgot one though: what about that last staircase adjacent to the westernmost one? Looks good. Actually reminds me of the University Village at UCSB (University California Santa Barbara). I'll find some pics for reference.

Is it the right time to ask, what will be in the expansion pack?

The Design School look great, and I think that I speak for all in saying the paths look awsome.

XiahouDun:  Thanks!  I looked for the mess hall at Notre Dame, but haven't found it yet.  I'll have to try again when I have a little more time.

AlfredJones:  Thank you!

Duane:  Thanks!  I've asked the monkeys to stop grabbing peoples ears and to try guiding them gently by the hand instead.  We'll see if they listen...  ::)

TopCliff:  Thanks!  I didn't put that one in just because I know it's a custom texture I'll have to make later.  This shows existing textures that I wanted to use as much as possible.  Thanks again for the picture!  I can definitely see some resemblance.

GrizzlyBuilder:  Thank you!  I'm not entirely sure what will make the second pack yet... although there will be more than one expansion.  The best I can do is tell you what I know right now...

Since the question was asked, here is the minimum of what will be included in Pack Two:

  • More Dorms - Somewhere around 3-5 of them of various sizes
  • Classroom Buildings - At least three, which will act much as the first ones do
  • Campus Security - Campus Police and Fire stations
  • Landscaping Walls - There will definitely be fence like versions of these and there might be retaining walls as well
  • Entry Decorations - Miscellaneous gates and signage for the driveway entries into campus

That's what I have for definites right now.  There will almost certainly be other supplimental buildings, but I'm not at a point to say which ones just yet.  They could include additional libraries, common areas, or "vendor buildings" (like food courts with brand name restaraunts for example)... just to name a few ideas.  I know that's probably not the most helpful answer, but that's all I can say with any degree of finality so far.  I'm still gathering ideas and sorting priorities... not to mention keeping up with the final touches for the first set.

The only thing I can think of is to make about ten different buildings that go on campus and are nothing but Starbucks, Peet's Coffee, and Seattle's Best.  ;D

They don't really look alike, but for some reason I just keep thinking that building. It just has the feeling that this building is where the students eat and hang out.

TopCliff:  Hmmm... wouldn't that just be some of the many restaraunts aready available?  :D

XiahouDun:  I can actually see what you mean.  It kind of reminds me of some sort of student common or rec building too.

Rushman5:  Thanks!  Probably because I don't have one of those fancy pieces of paper to prove I can do stuff... I think people call it a degree?  Something like that...  :D

Pat:  I hope that's a good thing.  I'll mail you a dictionary and thesaurus though... just in case.  ;)

Perhaps you remember this little aside.  The thing I forgot to do while lining up all the paths was to factor in the glass wall portion.  It was off by quite a bit... a little too much to work around really.  Unless of course I wanted to start that whole end of the building over...  $%Grinno$%  Here's what I came up with as an alternative:

For the most part, I think I like it.  I like the curved glass too and will probably use it somewhere else, but this fits quite well IMO.  Still a few tweaks to do if I keep it, but that's a "wait and see" type of thing.  Basically, I have two options to offer for feedback.  I can keep the old version and just not have an entry on that side.  (There isn't enough room for patios or any of those past suggestions either, so don't ask.  ;) )  Or I can use this new version.  What do y'all think?  Let the cursing of my name begin...  :D

I never said anything but the curved glass did look a little off. I would say to use it elsewhere and keep this 'new' look.

Pat

LoL OK no problem Jon!!  :D  Looking with and with out the curved glass in front of this praticular building my overall thought on it is pretty decent and I can't wait to see what you will use that curved glass on...

Oh Oh....here I go again agreeing with Pat.... :D.....actually he said what I wanted to say ...but was much quicker on the draw with it......  I will look forward to something with the curved glass tho....cause that is soooooo neat.

Looks good. Maybe you could also just make a big brick silo full of coffee beans for the students. We all know they need it.
