ZOMG!  &apls Looks wonderful Shaun!

Orange_o_

Effectively this channel is the beautiful which exists. Banks are surprising of realism. Stop quite your other projects to concentrate you on that one :)

Diggis,

Thank you thank you thank you so!  ()flower()
So simple but efective.
Will it be possible to plop weeds, cattails and other flora onto the edges? Or will there be prop families that we can put into the lots?

Hmmm, good question.  I did plan on doing that, but keep forgetting.  I'm sure I can work something out to allow that. I had planned to adding some myself along the water edge so will probably still do that, this was to make sure I could get the banks looking right.

So I have kept playing trying to get the ponds working:

Wanted to do a different bridge to last time.  I'm packaging these up for testing, just have to do a transition piece between these and the shingle set.

io_bg

Looks great, Diggis!
But what about different bridge pieces? I don't like these ones really much &mmm

This is looking extremely good!  &apls
I like the bridge pieces, only the color bothers me a lot, maybe try and go with a less 'flashy' color.

IO, there are stone bridges in the shingle pack.  Using the transition piece I'm rendering now :D you can use those.  Next set will have a different bridge again so that will give you 3 bridges.

The blue is quite a common colour for steelwork to be painted here.  I could do some coloured options for people to choose I suppose.  It's not too hard. &mmm

io_bg

Okay, I'm looking forward to using these!

Pat, that last bridge is part of the set that I have already released.  The blue steel one is the one from this set.  I'm in 2 minds about the colour of the steel, as thats a common colour to see it painted here.

Hey shawn, it's been a while, sorry ;)

These have really come along since I've been gone-really impressed how well you've gotten the grass edges on the new set to blend in so well.  I've got a minor suggestion.  on the bridge pieces, if you render just the above ground portion separately as another prop(like what I suggested to Mas here), you could turn the shadows on for it so it casts shadows on the road.  It would give it more depth, especially the new metal one with it's more complex geometry.

As for the color, maybe just bring the saturation and luminosity down just a smidge and it'd look great, it's just a little too bright.

Hey Chris, good to hear from you.  I was thinking something similar with the bridge.  Won't have time to rerender before I go on holiday, so will put it into testing as is (if I get the time to do that before I go away  &mmm ).

Tis a good idea with the bridge, I'll give it a go.  Because the bridge is one piece above and below ground, and because it's on the outside of the LOD I don't think I need to make everything else invisible to the camera, should work OK.   Again, not sure I'll have time tonight to fix it. (stupid work)

FrankU

Diggis,

Very nice work! You really make me happy with it.
Now I just need to start a new rural region to make use of it....  $%Grinno$%
BTW: does it have diagonals? And maybe even FACs (Fractional Angled Canals)?
BTW 2: is it possible to plop cattails and lillypads?
I like the new bridge. It is fun.

Pat

aaah my bad there Shaun Oii soo much work i've been doing setting up my new toy I lost track of every thing lol.... The blue bridge aint looking to bad either  ;) hey btw have you had the chance to work on a looong ago request lol

Diggis

Frank, thought you might like these.  There are no diagonals for the ponds, I tried earlier and didn't manage to get it working.  Just was more hassle that it was worth, given there are 1x1 and 2x2 corners to them.  I may do diagonal bridges as they are useful, but not fractional angle sorry.  :P

And yes, I have set these up so that you can plop anything you want on the banks and you can't accidently plop it in the water.  I'll get some images up when I get back from Holiday next weekend.

Pat, no worries.  And no  &ops Sorry, bug me next week.

Diggis

OK, I have updated the original Pond lots and models.  They should fit together slightly better than before now.  This isn't a required update but is recommended.  If you have the lots already you don't need to download the lots again, all I have done is remove the models into a prop pack:
