Well meinhosen, every update keeps getting better and better. I don't think that smalltown MD's get any better than this. Keep up the good work. Yeah, it would be odd if my unit relieved yours. You wouldn't happen to be in an MP unit would you...?

The unsinkable Heartland. I was hoping there would be more posts here... even if there can't be regular updates, periodic ones are still good too.

nice sunset or is it a sunrise?  :)

It's a sunrise... but they do look pretty similar in-game.

More to follow on the weekend.
You're telling me I get to be home for more than 12 months?

Travis

Good to see you are still around- can't wait for those pics this weekend. Those last two pictures are great,
they look so, what's the word I'm looking for, Midwestern?  :) Not that I've ever been out there, but you get the idea.  :P

bat

Wonderful pictures of that railway! Great work!

Meinhoses - I am soooo glad you decided to get back here! Looking forward to more of your great updates at this place

One of the things I like the most is hearing feedback from you all, and one of the things I like the most is providing you all with a bit of my own:   :)

Livin in Sim- I think I can manage to throw up a few pics once in a while... hope you enjoy the ones that follow  :)

Eddie - Thanks for the tip on the Picture Competition... Looks like you were right on in recommending a good pic  ;D

thundercrack - Thank you!  I guess SC4 is my artistic medium...

rooker - I'm still working on minimum photoshopping... that fog is an in-game lot (found here)  It's a lot designed for those who really love to create specific images in their CJs/MDs... I'm glad mjig shared it with us.

jmyers - Thank you!

Bernhard/Nardo - Thank you again, my friend!

Madeira - lol, again, it's sunrise... hopefully with the new mod by Gizmo it'll be able to distinguish dawn from dusk easier in the screenshots.  :)

pat - I never intended on giving up SC4... RL just hit me hard enough to make me reconsider being constant and consistent with updates here on SC4D.

ryalmighty - "better and better"... I try.  It should be more along the lines of "Doing the same thing again and again without repeating myself"  $%Grinno$%

threestooges - Periodic... that works  :P  I'll be happy enough to be able to produce weekly updates.

kimcar - Yes... fall is a sad reminder of winter... but winter means skiing and interesting (read: cold) hiking.

Travis - Thanks for posting pics of Gizmo's mod!  I was glad I could steal borrow the idea from a fellow MD-er.  Never been to the Midwest, eh... consider this your tour through :)

bat - Thank you!

sebes - I'm glad I could make available time to play and time to share, and I appreciate the kind comments!

Courtesy of the Day/Night mod by Gizmo (found here), I've been fiddling with the *new* darker nights and better sunrises and sunsets (nothing's radically different except a time and lighting change, but it seems a lot better).

Dark nights in Millford, IN.  If we were on the ground we'd see every constellation  :)

A morning freight train glidding south amongst the farm fields enroute to the Ohio River.

Saturday morning in downtown Millford.  Local farmers are going to be the only traffic on Main Street for a couple of hours.

Seeing an apple orchard in the fall brings memories of cold mornings, fresh apples, fresh cider, and fresh doughnuts.  I can't even begin to explain how much I love all four of those.

Great new pictures, meinhosen! Fantastic work!

kimcar

Personallly i found the Gizmo`s mod a bit too dark . I know it`s not easy to do it and i know a lot of people gonna prefer it , but i think  we miss too much city details . but it`s only my choice . As for the rest of your pics , there still very nice to look at it  &apls &apls. Super job you have done. Take care.

I just saw it in the Hall of Fame.  You sly, you... $%Grinno$%

Once again, great update and some fantastic railroad scenery.

rooker1

Great update and awesome pics.  I not too sure about the new night modd.  It looks very, very dark.  I know that's exactly how night is.  But you can't play the game like this, it can only be used for picture taking and even than it looks very dark.  But on the other hand that dawn picture is incredible.  I love the colour and shadows.  That maybe worth it, right there.
Secondly, your use of the seasonal trees is perfect.  I really like your pictures, great work.

Quickie-midweek update!  ;D

bat - Thanks!

kimcar - I agree about Gizmo's mod making the night too dark...  what his mod really does well is move dawn and dusk to a more appropriate time (5-7 AM for dawn; 6-8 PM for dusk, with complete darkness coming at 9PM).  Thank you, too, for the compliments!

Eddie - Thanks!

Robin a.k.a. rooker - I only use the night mode on Gizmo's mod when I'm not building... it's too dark to actually use to build or "eye-candy" your cities.  Like I said, the mod shows its usefulness with dawn and dusk, which is why I downloaded it.

One of my favorite BSC farmfields- it also happens to be very seasonal.

Cycledogg/Cyclepuppy's new prop pack has really improved the look of his seasonal trees.  They have a lot more color variation.  I'd highly recommend downloading it if you like fall color.

With the upcoming weekend, I'll try to include some RL pics of the leaves here in Upstate New York (they're spectacular) so you can get some contrast of the Heartland with the real world  :)
You're telling me I get to be home for more than 12 months?

Great new picture(s), meinhosen! That's looks beautiful with the seasonal trees and farmfields!

rooker1

Those are very beautiful farms.  I love the train picture best.  Does using the seasonal trees slow down your computer?

Livin in Sim

Hi, meinhosen,

Yes, I am enjoying the fall season of the Heartland, and I may try that night mod.  I kinda like the realistic darkness.  I must confess, sometimes I just let the game cycle and observe it.  Or have you ever queried a udriveit and "driven" around your city on autopilot without having to use those pesky controls?  It's fun, but sometimes the Sim driver starts circling around like a cruising adolescent.   $%Grinno$%  I love the variance in color of those trees, but didn't know c.p. had a new pack.  I have searched but can't see a new one.  Is it on the Lex?

Well, I'm off for some pumpkin pie.

Bye for now.
