Ok, I freely admit I am computer illiterate. I have been downloading stuff from the LEX and STEX and, as you know, some of it has to be unzipped. After it is unzipped and the files extracted, can I delete the zip file? Also, is there a place I can put all the read-mes?

You could delete all the zips but I think its a good idea to hang onto them. I keep all my zips in a folder I call zips and at the end of each month I then move them over to my external hard drive for safe keeping. Yes there have been times when I am glad I saved them.
Read me's are another thing I hold onto an its amazing how much I refer back to them. Since some sights do not give you a formal readme like the LEX does I created my own Master readme file. After I download the zip file I do a save as of the picture of the new item and then I scroll down and do a save as of the description area. I then put these in there properly name folder and store them in my Master Readme file. After doing this since December of 06 it its become a habit and is fast and painless to do. I also do this with all the LEX downloads even though they do put them in their own readme file.

So where is your master zip file? Is it in your mydocs/simcity4 file?

High5Tower

Its in a Desk Top file I titled SimCity work.
Also in the folder I have files titled:
     Holding area
Plug & Play; Things that I downloaded, tested and decided that I do not want in my active plugins at this time.
Quaranteend: items that I have removed from the game.
     Readme's
     Zips
