Magnificent! I've been to Berlin when it first was rebuilt as a "dummy". That must have been about 15 - 20 years ago. It really is an awesome building. The "real" one aswell as your piece of art that we can admire here!

well, thanks to momo95 i found great pictures of almost all detailes of the not so famous renaissance parts of the Stadtschloss. I was following the work of andreas who never finished this project but did the inner renaissance parts. He did a great job, but his interpretation is very far from the original. So unfortunatelly i need to do it again...

meanwhile i focused a little on another w2w i started some weeks ago:

a buissnes and apartment building from Leipzigerstraße, located infront of the museum of communication.

As there is only a very bad picture it is of course more inspired by the building, than beeing an exact copy. Hope you like it so far.

The w2w corner building looks great. A particularly large corner building it yet. You bring new items, some more variety. Thank you! :)

It's a pity that my grandmother cannot see this anymore. She would be delighted: she grew up when Berlin looked like this.
Thank you every time again for your projects.  &apls

Hi folks,

thanks for the motivating words! Checking some old BATs i was wondering, that i've never shown here the Reichsschatzamt (Financial Department of the German Reich), which was located on the sothern side of Wilhelmplatz, just next to the famous Hotel Kaiserhof.

It is one of the key buildings to recreate the historic government quarter.

When the department was growing in the beginning of the 20th century, the two buildings next to it where bought, annected and the facades changed to fit with the original building. The building itself was the first one on Wilhelmplatz with a sand stone covered facade. In WW2 it was nearly completelly distroyed and the ruins where removed in 1947.

Hi folks,

After finishing the main building of the department of finance i started to bat the other parts of the complex too. Wilhelmstraße 61 was built in 1907 as addition to the frequently growing department:

The building on Wilhelmplatz 2 was used as part of the department since 1894. In 1909 the facade was changed and a additional floor added to fit with the main building.

For all, who are interested in the historic government quarter (of which today is only one building left) i can suggest you having a view on this exciting webside:

by clicking on the interactive map you can see every building sorrounding Wilhelmplatz.

Hi folks,

done with the Reichsschatzamt and going on with one i started half year ago but didn't find the passion until now. Shouldn't be hard to guess which building this is and might give some enthusiastic feelings to some members that i guess are waiting for this one for years ;)
