Hey Dustin, sorry for my recent absence. Hope you enjoyed your trip, and glad to know it was a safe one. I'm not even going to try and comment until I can catch up with whatever's going on in Marathon. I did DL the map, though, and at first glance I can tell it's a beaut.

Later, but maybe not so long this time...

I didn't come there for few weeks and I'm happy to see the city is still beautiful, and I know I'l never be disappointed ;)

This a very beautiful map you did, and I see you named some things in french, and, for example, Citroën Amphitheater, did you inspire of the Quai André Citroën in Paris? :D
Or for "La Baie des Chrysanthèmes" ... The Chrysanthèmes are very  used in France in ... cemeteries $%Grinno$%
But, it's very beautiful, and I'm very happy to see french names on an american map, but it's odd you mix up french and american names ??? Why? You love France or french? :P

Pat: Thanks, my friend!

projectadam: Hi! It's great to see you here again, too! I did have a good time on my trip, and I'm so happy that you like the map!

Joan (Jmouse): Hello, Joan! It's wonderful to see you back, and I hope that all is well, my friend. Please don't worry about catching up or anything like that—just having you around is more than enough for me! Take care!

sebes: Wow! Thank you so much for such a fantastic comment, my friend! Hope to see you again soon!

Guillaume (Sciurus): Hi, there! Glad to see you again! Actually, the name for the Citroën Amphitheatre came from the car manufacturer, though the two may be named for the same thing, as far as I know. As for the use of French, I've always loved the French language and culture, and wanted to incorporate it as best as I could into my North American style city, giving it a bit of a Montréal-like feel, if that makes sense. Perhaps when I get a better grasp on your language, I'll get some more in there for you! Take care, my friend!

Arthur (art128): Thank you, Arthur! I'm happy you enjoyed the map!

bat: Thanks!

Alex (Driftmaster07): Thanks, Alex!

Well, if you don't mind a bit of a detour to the prairies, I'll give you a bit of a lowdown on my trip to Texas and Oklahoma over the past week!

We'll start in...

Austin, Texas, where we headed for the first Bruce Springsteen concert.

The Frank Erwin Center, where the concert was held...

...and a close up of the Texas State Capitol.

Above is a shot of the Austin skyline as we were heading back to...

...Dallas, Texas.

Here we are crossing Interstate 30 near Dallas, which heads east to Texarkana, Arkansas.

Our next destination was Oklahoma, via...

...US Route 75. You can also see the Texas Style Traffic Signals, a project that our good friend Ryan (burgsabre87) is working on for our game.

Crossing the Red River from Texas into Oklahoma...

...and on our way to Tulsa.

Along the way, we crossed...

...Oklahoma State Route 3, passed...

A Sinclair station, as well as...

Interstates 40...

...and 44, until we finally made it to...

Tulsa, Oklahoma!

Above is the BOK Center, where the concert was held in Tulsa, and here...

The BOK Center sign...

and another shot of...

...downtown Tulsa.

and also saw...

...this sign on the side of the road on the Indian Nation Turnpike. Peculiar, right? We thought the same thing until we came upon...

...this! Unfortunately, brush fires seem to be a problem in Eastern Oklahoma, as we saw several plumes of smoke off in the distance, as well as the tell-tale scent.

Finally, I'll leave you with...

All in all, it was a fantastic trip, and I hope to make it back out to my friends' home in Dallas soon. I hope you enjoyed my pictures, and I do apologize for the bevy of road signs, but that's one of my favorite things to get pictures of when I go somewhere I've never been before.

Oh, and a quick check back with Marathon...

Something else that I've been tinkering with.

I'd also like to wish a Happy Easter to all of our friends who celebrate it, and a happy and wonderful spring (or fall for the Southern Hemisphere!) weekend to all of our friends who do not!

In a bit!

Great that you shared us your trip trough Texas and Oklahoma. So how was the Bruce Springsteen concert. I hope you enjoyed it. Oh, and how long did it took to drive from Austin to Tusla? (Probably very long in dutch terms) Happy easter to you too!

I'm still lurking around here ::)

Best,
Maarten

Great photos, Dustin. It's been ages since I saw Austin, but we've been in Dallas many times in the past 10 years - the most recent trip was four months ago. When you saw the Texarkana exit, you were about six hours from where I live, but if you ever get closer than that and want to stop by, we'll feed you and give you a place to spend the night. :) And if you go through Oklahoma again, I'll see if one of my relatives will put you up - or put up with you - for the night! :D

Later...

Joan

Guillaume (Sciurus): Thank you, my friend! I'm glad you like the pictures from my trip. And your French road signs do look wonderful, too! But I have to admit, almost any road sign looks good to me! Thanks for stopping by!

Arthur (art128): Hi, Arthur! I'm still working on the Easter chocolate—you have to pace yourself, right? The concerts, and the trip overall were just great, but it feels good to be back home. It's great to see you here, as always, my friend!

bat: Thanks so much, my friend!

Pat: Hi, my friend! You're definitely right about the sign, too—it had us a bit confused when we saw it. But then, when we came upon a brush fire by the side of the road, things made a bit more sense. Thanks for coming by, and I hope to see you again!

Maarten (mrtnrln): Hi, Maarten! The concerts were great, as usual with Bruce. I've been to over 30 of them, and each time, there's something different to see. The drive from Austin to Tulsa is probably about eight hours, but my friends live in Dallas, which is right in the middle, so we were able to break it up into two four-hour chunks, so it wasn't that bad. From Dallas to Austin, it's roughly 200 mi / 320 km, and from Dallas to Tulsa it is about 250 mi / 400 km. Take care, my friend!

Joan (Jmouse): Thanks so much for the invitation, my friend! Arkansas is definitely on my list of states to get to, right up there with New Mexico, Oregon, and Washington. One of these days I may just have to take you up on it! Thanks for coming by!

Well, I'm still working and plugging away on another project here...

There will be a bit more to it when it's all finished, but right now this is about as far as I have gotten. I hope to have it wrapped up by the end of the week, but you know how deadlines seem to pass!

In a bit!

Pat

Dustin its always my pleasure to be coming on in here to Marathon!!! I love watching you work with everything from maps to lots and this new is no exception to where as I cant wait to see more!!!
