Oh, Dustin, I'm terribly sorry to hear about your loss.  ()sad()

On a brighter note, the new symmetrical area is quite nice.  The roads look much better there, and there are still just enough avenues to keep traffic flow realistic and reasonable.  Keep up the good work!

Dustin, I've already sent my thoughts elsewhere, but you hang in there.  Certainly, as others have noted, your grandmother was a remarkable person and she lived a long and I'm sure productive life.  I'm sure she saw many amazing things over the years, and I can't imagine that you were the least of her blessings.

metarvo: Thank you very much for your kind thoughts, my friend. And I'm glad you like the new set-up, too!

Don (homefryes): Thank you, Don, for your sympathies.

Ryan (burgsabre87): Thanks so much, Ryan. I really appreciate it.

David (dedgren): Thank you, David. She lived through a lot in 93 years, she probably saw things that we'd never see in our lifetimes. Take care, my friend!

Luke09: You're correct, 93 years is quite long! I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother, too, my friend. It's tough at any age, I think.

Arthur (art128): Thank you, Arthur. And I'm happy that you like the development, my friend.

Robin (rooker1): Thanks so much, Robin. I always know where to find you!

Maarten (mrtnrln): Thanks, Maarten. I have nothing but good memories off her. Take care!

carkid1998: Thank you for your condolences, my friend. I appreciate it very much! And I'm happy that you like things in Marathon, too!

I've thanked you all individually, but I'd like to take the time to thank you all collectively for your kind words, condolences, and sympathies for my grandmother. We spend all of our time here at SC4D because of a common bond—our passion for this wonderful game. But, I feel that the more fundamental bond between all of us is something more important, friendship. All of you have been so supportive, not only of Marathon, but of me, and I cannot even begin to express my gratitude for that. You are the best friends that anyone can ask for—thank you all so much!

On the Marathon end, I've added another section to Abitibi Square...

Now the roads are perfect. ;D And I must say I absolutely love what you're doing with this complex of buildings, especially the use of flora and the placement of the roads.

Not only that, but I just realized how absolutely adorable the name Figgy is... :D
...this space to be filled soon...

JBSimio

Dustin,

I've really enjoyed the last few updates!   &apls  The "planned neighborhood" you've laid out came together very well.  I agree that the change to more roads as opposed to avenues made a world of difference in the overall look.  I'm anxiously awaiting the time when we'll get to see how you fill that area in.  Your work with LE continues to amaze me.  You've taken some buildings that were already wonderful and turned them into true show pieces.  I like the way you've arranged this area into one large cohesive something or other.  (Sorry... the word I'm searching for seems to be out of reach at the moment.)  :D

On a personal note, I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother.  I lost mine this past summer under fairly similar circumstances... her health had been declining for quite some time as well.  While her passing may have been somewhat expected, it still doesn't make things any easier.  I managed to take comfort in the idea that her many aches and pains were finally at an end, but it still takes time.  My condolences and all the best to you and your family as you go through this.

Luke09: Wow! Thank you so much, my friend! Maybe one of these days I'll look into making some stuff available for download. I fear that I lot of work will be needed to make things LEX-ready, though. We'll see what happens!

Alex (Driftmaster07): Hi, Alex! Thank you for your words of sympathy, my friend. It means so much to me to have friends like you. As for the parking garage textures, I would give the NDEX Textures, Set 1 a shot and see if that works for you. If not, let me know and we'll go from there! Don't worry, one way or another we'll get this figured out for you, my friend! Take care!

Pat: Thanks so much, my friend! Hope to see you again soon!

Dark_Jedi06: Thanks! Without your advice and that of others, I never would have thought to use the roads, but now I that I see it, I couldn't envision it any other way. I owe you one! I'm glad you like Figgy's name, too! It's short for Figaro, but we hardly call him that (unless he does something bad). Actually, he gets called "Fig" the most, but Figgy will come out when we want to get his attention. Whatever we call him, though, he's a great pup! Thanks for stopping by, my friend!

Jon (JBSimio): Hey, Jon! Good to see you again, my friend! I'm happy to hear that you're enjoying things here in Marathon, too, especially Abitibi Square. As a matter of fact, a "cohesive something or other" is how I was thinking of it in my head, too, so you hit the nail on the head there, my friend! Thank you, too, for your kind words and sympathies, as well, and I'm sorry to hear you lost your grandmother last summer. Like you said, it is nice to know that she's not in pain anymore, but it's still a sad time. Take care, my friend, and I hope to see you back soon!

Well, I've been thinking about out Portland, OR-inspired symmetry, particularly how development will unfold, and I thought of something...

...Marathon needs another square! You never can have to many, can you?

I've used the absolutely stunning Berliner Dom by DebussyMan as a bit of placeholder for the spot, but as I look at there, I think I may re-lot it as a 10x10 and keep it right there!

If anyone else has any other suggestions for the area, please feel free to let me know. Just make sure that it will fit onto 10x10 lot so it will work in the square.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, we should be at our 200th post for the month of April, and we're fast approaching 1300 comments! Wow! I say it so much here, but I have to because it's so true—you guys are the greatest! Thanks so much!

Now that is awesome, Dustin. You're going to have a fit trying to fill all those little diagonal squares, but based on some of the other magic tricks you've pulled off recently, maybe not. Very much looking forward to seeing how this turns out. :)

Later...

Joan

art128

nicely done there Dustin, the dome looks good here. I think too that you should re-LOT it to fit perfectly.
I think, like in the real area, that will be great if you make that area (Portland) only with little houses and a lot of trees.
Good choice of building for the  Abitibi Square, that spa's building fit really nice there. Also, I like your use of eucalyptus, some time, if they're too much used, they looks like a big forest, but your use of it make it looking likes a great park to walk in !

Take Care,

Arthur.

Happy for you you didn't take my opinion bad. I believed I was a bit aggressiv, but if you said I'm not, it's right. I understand you can't build european cities, because you never been to Europe. I hope my opinon was benefical for you, and I see it is!
So, after this, I say you to see the contruction of your city is still a pleasure for me, and for you too(I hope! :D).
And for the little sentence in french, you said right. You're very good in french, but somme more little lessons, and you'll speak french a bit ;) You know I always there, so you know it remains to do ;D
