Robin (rooker1): Hi, Robin! I hope that you had a wonderful weekend with your family, my friend! Thank you for the encouragement, and I hope to see you again soon!

Alex (Driftmaster07): Sorry to hear that you spent all weekend moving furniture, Alex—I hope everything went well!

Jayson (sithlrd98): Ha! It's OK, Jayson! That's happened to me before! The ground is level, so it's just an illusion. Hope to see you again soon!

Arthur (art128): Hi, Arthur! I know what you're talking about and I'm a bit bothered by it, too. Perhaps we'll find another solution for it, though! Take care!

Glowbal: Thanks, my friend!

bat: Thank you, bat!

Luke (Luke09): Thanks, Luke! And I know what you're talking about, though you're were off on the score a little bit! I thought that the United States was doing OK with a 2-0 lead, but Brazil pulled it out! Congratulations, my friend! Take care!

Pat: Thanks!

kimcar: Thank you so much, my friend! But you're right, there's a lot of work that still needs to be done!

Well, I have to say one thing...if you're thinking about having a yard sale ever in your life...DON'T! All the work is not worth it at all. I was awake for 23 hours straight from Friday into Saturday, then spent all day today moving all the junk that didn't sell back to where it was before the sale! Overall, it wasn't that bad, but I would never participate in one again.

Anyway...needless to say, I wasn't about to get a whole lot done this weekend, but...

...I did manage to pull off a shot of the area surrounding our park-in-progress. For now, though, I think I need to relax for a while.

In a bit!

Nice new teaser there! Looking forward to more... ;)

Excellent teaser Dustin, I like the concentration of tower in this part ! Also, nice work with the diagonals..  ;)
Looking forward to more.
Take care.

Hello Dustin,
Totally agree about the yard sale fiasco.  I can't think of too many times for others or myself where it worked out for the better.  I suppose though if one were to keep this junk in one area of their garage/storage than it may be alright.  I have a little problem with saving junk as my mother was a pro at keeping junk that I now have a sort of phobia.  If I haven't used it in two years, it is gone.  Whether it goes to a friend for free, or I sale it on the internet, or it just goes to the garbage.  This has bite me in the butt a few times, but you'll never see me having a yrad sale.  ()stsfd()

That angle for your pictures looks great.  Try to take a few pics in a row from the same spot as you add more and more details to that area and than turn it into an animation. ;) If you don't have a program to do that, look for me on MSN and I'll find the free DL link for you.

See you later my friend,
Robin

What?!?!?
No update?
Well you must be catching up on the lost sleep from the Yard Sale. ::)
It's good to see even Dustin the Great needs a break.  :D ;D :D

bat: Vielen Dank!

Arthur (art128): Thanks, Arthur! I'm happy with how the towers have turned out so far, and I'm even happier to hear that you are, too! Thanks for coming by!

Robin (rooker1): Hey, Robin! I won't even waste any more energy thinking about that yard sale catastrophe, but suffice it to say that I was pretty wiped out! As for the angle on that last shot, I was just playing around in Photoshop and forgot about the old "Flip Canvas Horizontal." I tried it, and that's what happened! I think that tall and thin structures take to the technique quite well, and I may use that to my advantage in the future. Oh, and your animation idea's a great one! I'll be looking for you for answers there, too! Take care, my friend!

Tomas Neto: Thank you, my friend! And welcome to Marathon!

Luke (Luke09): Thanks, Luke! And congratulations again on Brazil's Confederation Cup win!

Alex (Driftmaster07): Thank you, Alex!

Corey (Nexis4Jersey): Thanks so much, Corey! It's great to finally be playing around with skyscrapers again. Take care!

Robin (rooker1): Ha! What can I say, my friend? That yard sale did what no doctor or medicine had done before—knocked the wind out of my sails! And I don't think "Dustin the Great" is the operative term either! Perhaps, Dustin the Persistent? Either way, though, hopefully I'll be able to get back to pace!

Well, I'm at one of those transitional junctures that have come up before in Marathon—a few projects that are started but need finishing up, and a few ideas that need to be turned into projects! One thing that I've been thinking about on the back-burner, though, is...

...the region that is the Commonwealth of Marathon. I do believe that, in my down times or when I'm brainstorming, planning, or otherwise thinking about other things, that I am going to do some tinkering around with the southwestern section of the map. There will definitely be some coastlines added in, and probably a few smaller waterways, but as of right now, nothing really screamed out at me...yet.

So, be on the lookout for that—and other projects as well!

Oh, and...

HAPPY CANADA DAY!
JOYEUSE FÊTE DU CANADA!

Happy Canada Day to all our Canadian members here in the community! Enjoy yourselves, friends! I'll be wearing my Team Canada hockey jersey (it's been a tradition of mine for about 10 years now, no matter what the temperature) and thinking of you all throughout the day!

More from Marathon to come!

CasperVg

Glad to see that my small tutorial seems to have fixed the texture issues. Judging from the region picture, it seems you still got a lot of work to do there, but that's a good thing; the more you work, the more beauty we get to see. That's some good usage of the Flip Horizontal command as well, it gives the picture an extra touch.

Looking forward to more,
Casper

Casper (caspervg): Hi, Casper! Good to see you again, my friend! Thanks so much again for all your help with that texture issue. Your solution was perfect! Hope to see you again soon!

Arthur (art128): Hey, Arthur! Yes, Marathon's growing more rapidly than I'd anticipated, but I guess that's a good thing! Thanks for stopping by!

Alex (Driftmaster07): Thank you, Alex!

Darra (darraghf): Ha! Thanks, my friend!

bat: Thank you so much, bat!

beutelschlurf: Hello! Thank you for your very kind words, and I hope to see you here in Marathon again very soon!

Luke (Luke09): Thanks, Luke! According to Wikipedia, Canada Day is "Canada's national day, a federal statutory holiday celebrating the anniversary of the 1 July 1867 enactment of the British North America Act, which united Canada as a single country, which was in turn composed of four provinces." Since I'm not Canadian, I can't really give you much more than that, I do apologize. Perhaps one of our Canadian friends can fill in the blanks? Take care, my friend!

As I said last time, I've got a lot of ideas bouncing around in my head! And since I've been up since about 4:00 AM today (I went to bed around 1:00 AM, so I'm running on about three hours of sleep), I've had some time to play around!

I've been contemplating...

...this. So, I decided to fire up the LE and make a few test lots with nothing on them on them to see how things line up...

And it worked out exactly how I wanted it to! The base texture is up in the air at the moment, and I may play around with the overlays to get some straighter edges, too. More importantly, though, I have to figure out what I want to put in there! That's what's next, I suppose!

Now, do I go take a nap, or do I stay awake? I'm thinking...nap.

In a bit!

art128

that's a pretty big plaza Dustin, i think you will place some buildings on it .... ?!
Looking forward to more..
Take care

Can't wait to see what you're going to make from that plaza.
I expect some buildings, also?

Btw, do you use a streetside mod or something?

Cheers!
