&apls Nice evolution for your highway Dustin It`s not always easy to get a great render but when we find it that give a great satifaction. I like the way who give the curve on the last pic. My only sugest it if is possible to get this way with your fences section . Not absolutely round way but

more same look each side of the curve. Hope you understand whst i mean  ;D Anyway it`s only a suggestion. you are the boss :D Looking forward

bat

Nice work there on the highway! And also wonderful pictures!
Looking forward to more... :)

Jmouse

Dustin, that curve looks great! Dave is really good at figuring things like that out, but don't tell him I said so! ;) I really like the walls you're using, too. It's amazing to see how things are turning out since you first laid out the terraforming and dragged a few highways.

Earth quake: Merci bien, mon fidèle ami! I can always count on you stopping in with your very kind words of support!

David (Simpson): Thank you so much, David! Your great comments here in Marathon are always appreciated~

Paul (squidi): Thanks for coming by, Paul! I understand about being too lazy to comment, too! There's so much that goes on here at SC4D, it's hard to comment on all of it!

Pat: Thanks, my friend!

kimcar: Actually, that picture was taken by Dave (tooheys) and sent to me by PM. Your idea for filling in those gaps is a great one, though, and I will most certainly be making the most of it! Thank you so very much!

bat: Thank you, bat! It's great to see you here, my friend!

Joan (Jmouse): Don't worry, your secret's safe with me, Joan! I know what you mean about Dave, too—he does seem to be good a figuring stuff out! (I knew there was a reason we kept you around, Dave! Heh!) Thanks for your support, Joan!

Well, here we are! 200+ replies, over 3600 views, and all in a span of about 25 days!

Friends, I don't really know how to thank all of you for taking the time to come to Marathon, whether posting or just checking thing out. When I started this MD—and even before...ask Robin (rooker1)!—I was worried that I didn't have any worthwhile to show, or that I was only rehashing ideas previously examined by our great minds here at SC4D and elsewhere. Whether that is the case or not, all of you have made the first 25 days of this MD some of the best time I've spent here at SC4D! If the next 25 days are half as great as the past ones were, things can only get better!

And speaking of Robin...I have to give my very good friend a special thank you, since he is the man responsible for Marathon opening in the first place! About a month ago, he and I were discussing the possibility of my opening an MD on MSN, to which he responded with daily pleading, prodding, persuading, and other words that begin with "P" as well, until I surrendered! While I had many ideas in my head, without Robin's support, I would never have gone into the game and put those ideas into action. And for that, alone, I owe him a great debt of gratitude! Thank you so much, Robin! So if you're a fan of things here in Marathon, make sure you thank our friend Robin!

It's almost 2:00 AM here in Pennsylvania, so just a quick note. I've made a banner for the Table of Contents...

...and it's up in the first post of the thread.

More from Marathon will be coming soon! Thank you all again, from the bottom of my heart!

Congrats for your award, Dustin!!! Nice work on your MD there and also in the Recently Public - section (only 2 weeks in that section &apls)... &apls

metarvo

It may have taken you a while to start an MD, but I really don't know why you waited so long.  CoM is proof that you really do have it in you, Dustin.  On the other hand, you might not have been in Recently Published at the right time to win this award if you had started CoM earlier, so I suppose it worked out.  Congratulations, Dustin.  With progress like this, it may not be too long before this wonderful MD gets moved to Classics.  I do hope you're careful with that gift you received. ;) lol

BIG congrats Dustin on both the MD award and the movement to OSITM.  With the sheer volume of comments and the interest CoM has generated it would have been a crime if you were not here!!

Enjoy the month and I look forward to seeing what you deliver for us.

bat: Thank you, bat! I appreciate it, my friend!

metarvo: Thanks, my friend! Like I said, I was reluctant to start one because I wasn't sure if I'd be successful at it. Thanks to you and everyone else, it seems like things are going OK! Thanks again, for your continued support!

Arthur (art128): Merci, Arthur!

Paul (paroch): Hi, Paul! Thank you for taking the time to stop in with your kind words! You're a true friend!

Pat: Thanks, buddy! I hope December's as good as November was!

Well, this is getting overwhelming!

First, being awarded Best in Recently Published after only spending 10 days in the section was great, but now I've been selected for Of Special Interest This Month in December!

There have been more than a few MDs that have done some wonderful things with their time in OSITM. Heck, look at the group we had in November—Pat, Robin, Paul, and bat—now that is a group of MD authors that know how to celebrate OSITM! I only hope that I can use the time half as well as they have!

So, first item—

Each day in the month of December, we'll be posting a different picture of something random from Marathon. Kind of as a teaser, but more as a celebration of the time in OSITM.

Here's...

DECEMBER 1

I also have a bit of a surprise in the works, but we'll get to that in due time...

Also, of course, updates will be posted like they always have been, so with any luck, things here in Marathon should be pretty busy for the month of December!

One down, 30 to go!
