Looks like the building has a foundation AND the lot... though I wouldn't think that would cause any problems...

Nice highway shot... old picture maybe?

Joe (JoeST): It's quite odd, isn't it? I've never encountered anything like it before! Thanks for coming by!

David (Simpson): Thanks so much!

Piotr (Sheep49): "Lot Foundation," eh? I think you may be on to something there... Thanks, Piotr!

Guillaume (Sciurus): Thank you, my friend!

deathtopumpkins: Hi, there! It is definitely a strange one, I must say! And I'm glad you the highway, too! Take care!

Alan (alan_vzla): Thank you, Alan!

Arthur (art128): Thank you! And you're right, I think Piotr's onto something!

kimcar: Thank you very much! Hope to see you again soon!

Pat: Hi, my friend! I don't have a clue what caused it either, it's not something I've seen before. Thanks for your help, though!

Thanks to Piotr (Sheep49)...

...problem solved!

I thought I selected one in the Lot Foundation, but I guess not! Thanks again, Piotr! I owe you one!

Now to deal with those terribly off-centered trees...oh, and flip the lot, too. We wouldn't want people to wander off the edge and onto the tracks, would we?

deathtopumpkins

Glad you got it working Dustin!

And I would add some kind of a fence or something too!  :D

Hey Dustin. I made some lots some time ago, looking like this

I used these props: http://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=11773&v=1

There are some similar props in one of the CSX megaprop packs as well (can't remember which one).

Guess it would solve your problems with people jumping out on the tracks :P

sithlrd98

Dustin , I just looked through here  (gonna start from the beginning) ...Great job! Love the tutorials and I see some awesome work!

Jayson

Jmouse

Nice lots, Dustin. The trees already add a lot of interest and will look even better with a few minor adjustments. Hope you'll give us a step-by-step on this technique too!

Later...
Joan

Sheep49

Glad to see that I actually helped ;D Now I can say, those lots are really great!

Misplaced trees problems, huh? I know what you feel. Most of the time I can't get them to 'work' either... And also I'd like to recommend you the props that metasmurf linked to in his post. They would not only keep people from wandering off the edge, but also will made the lot even more visually impressive ;)

Anyway, can't wait for the next update!

deathtopumpkins: Thanks, my friend! And you're right on the fence, too! I don't think it would be up to safety standards without it!

metasmurf: Thank you so much for that link, my friend! I've downloaded them, now it's just a matter of trudging through the texture ID numbers to figure out what's what! Oh, and by the way, the picture you posted—phenomenal! Thanks again!

Jayson (sithlrd98): Welcome to Marathon, Jayson! I'm so happy that you're finding things to your liking here, and I hope to hear from you again! Take care!

Joan (Jmouse): Thanks, Joan! Though, I think the trees need more than just "minor" adjustments...they're way off! I cannot, for the life of me, get them to center on the dirt mounds. When I center them at one angle, I rotate and their completely off again! I simply do not understand! But anyway, thanks for stopping in, my friend!

Piotr (Sheep49): Hi, Piotr! Let me thank you again for solving that problem, and also thank you for your wonderful comments! As for the tree-centering, like I said to Joan, it's really starting to frustrate me! If I don't get it soon, I may be in trouble! Hope to see you again, my friend!

David (Simpson): Thank you so very much, my friend!

We're on the right track I think—

I don't care for the walls that I've used right now, though I'm having a bit of a time finding the right ones, since it means opening LE, changing them, closing, opening the game, plopping, closing...well, you get the point! If someone knows an easier way, I would be in your debt!

More to come, folks! Thanks for visiting!

Sciurus

I'm happy for you you resolved your problem, and I prefer the first texture than the second ;)

Dustin, Glad you resolved the problem my friend.
Good luck with these lots !

Ah and where you get these fences ? (and if it's possible they name in the LE)
thanks in advance,

Arthur.

It seems like you're really starting to get the hang of non-slope conforming lots, Dustin.  The people in Marathon have a nice place to take a walk now, and I'm sure the fence makes it safer for them.

Eh... Looking at your custom lots I'm pretty jelous of the people living in Marathon. That boulevard along the railroads is sure going to be one of the favourite places for Sims to spend time there ;)

And about those misplaced trees... Take your time. Only calmness can save us! :D But seriously, when I'm starting to be irritated by them I just think of all those lotters, who once in a while have similiar problems. Because, as we all now, making custom lots is relatively easy once you lot a lot. (;)) So, cheer up! You're going to get them right sooner or later (preferably sooner, I think...)

Oh, and that whole closing LE, opening SC4 etc. thing, I'm afraid that there's no other way to check those foundation textures in actiion. ()sad() At least no to my knowledge.

Can't wait for next update

That's looking really nice there, Dustin! Nice work on that railway and the walls....

Jmouse

Excellent "comeback," Dustin! And don't forget, you can always plant some trees on the unfenced side that don't have to be centered. ;)
