Base texture issue on a custom lot

Hello - I'm having an issue with a base texture and am wondering if there is a solution.

This is a substation lot I created (which I shared on this thread [linkie] on 1 Dec.):


I recently installed SC4RH on my new laptop, and have installed only four texture packs so far. By process of elimination (pulling one pack out of my plugins folder at a time), I learned that the base and overlay textures I'm using belong to BSC_TexturePack_Cycledogg_V 01.dat. Now, in my initial lot pics I had leveled the area where the substation goes, simply because I want the ground flat (if it's unlevel, you get the retaining wall where the "building" is on the lot which is unattractive); it just makes logical sense from a real-life perspective anyway, IMO. But here's where the anomaly comes to light. If, let's say, I didn't level the ground, and decided to go back and do it later (by plopping street tiles one at a time around the lot), something strange occurs:

This isn't a great example of leveling, but it shows the anomaly; and by removing the street, you can see this mess spills out over into the tile where the street was:




Here's a better step-by-step, with the texture pack removed from my plugins folder.

I haven't found this issue (yet) on the other two substation lots (shown on the other thread linked above), but I haven't done the testing either. Does anyone know what might be causing this unfortunate issue?

I'm guessing the foundation under the building. That's a hefty foundation for a little substation. ???

Hmmm, but the "building" itself (based on the LOD's in gmax and also based on what I see in the LE when I add it to the lot) is only slightly larger than the space occupied by all of the poles that make up the substation (not the streetlight, which is a prop). So the "building" occupies part of the left and center tiles, but does not reach to the outer edges of any tiles except where it spans the two. This anomaly is occupying the entire middle tile as well as spilling out into the street, so it's not lined up with the "building" at all.

It's not the building foundation, it's the lot foundation! ;)

Try changing the property LotConfigPropertyRetainingWallTypes in the LotConfig Exemplar to 0x00000000.

Thinking about it, if it were the lot foundation, it would cover the whole lot, not just the middle tile... &mmm

Thus, it probably is the property Building foundation after all... Try giving that one a value of 0x00000000.

Note also that it may appear both in the LotConfig Exemplar and in the Building Exemplar.

Thanks, RippleJet - that seems to have fixed the problem! I only found one instance to change in the file, but it appears that's enough. I did more test to force the anomaly, and it did not reappear. Thanks again!

I actually ran into this same (mostly) sort of problem, with the unwanted BUILDING foundation showing up (red bricks) with an offset BAT I had placed for some highway signs. The solution was close to what was suggested here, but instead I set the Occupant Size exemplar property to "0.000001,0.000001,0.000001" and this effectively removed any presence of the building from the lot, and took the foundation with it.
