I am using the Portland Max Pax for the GLR trains and I wanted to know if I can limit the length of the Light Rail Cars?  I suspect its possible.    When I use this model the GLR gets rather long.   (In Portland the MAX Light Rail only has max of two cars btw)   Here is a shot.

Now when I use the VDK GLR Tram Mod 1.0 Setup I just get 1 car on the track.  Is there some way I can set the max GLR length to 2 or 3 so that they a) look more like real life and b) fit the station?

The number of cars can be limited, this setting is located in the Automata Plugin. Unfortunately, there's only one property for Passenger Railway, Elevated Rail and Monorail automata, so those will have the same lenght as your GLR trains.  &mmm

Andreas. How can you modify this property? I'd like to limit to 4 but this is beyond my knowledge right now.

You can modified it with the help of iLive Reader. Download it from the BSC Exchange

Open your Automata Plugin (in the NAM installation folder) with the Reader and seach for a property called "Commute Train Length" (it's somewhere in between the second half of the list of properties). Double-click the entry and edit the two values (minimum and maximum number of cars, including the engine) to your liking.

Just remember that your passenger rail, monorail, and subway trains will also have the same train length as the trams if you do this.

3 replies to one answer! I think I'm served! Thanks! I wanted to limit the length of the commuter trains because with the radical automata setup they tend to get to long to my taste. I will limit them to 5 to 7 cars including tractor which would make it consistent with Montreal subway trains which have 3 to 9 cars and still make them long enough for normal commuter trains.

There is a setting for the amount of passenger pr train. You could change that as well.
