(The question is involving the rail pieces to the top side of each picture, not the roads.)

The question is, is there anyway to complete that rail tunnel I had planned without losing the road tunnel that is in place? If not, could it be made possible by a custom lot of some kind?

Try to dig a deeper hole for the rail tunnel. If this doesn't work, destroy the one way road tunnels, then build the rail tunnel and in the end - the one way tunnels. Hope this will help you.

How did you manage to get two tunnels side by side like that?

I'll get a picture of how it's done and post it in a minute, but first...

I'm assuming you are already familiar with Assassin's hole digging lots (If not, you can find them here: http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1544) so these pictures should get you going...

All you have to do from here is repeat the same thing at the other end (Where you want the other side of the tunnel to be) Also, something you should know is that if the holes you dug for each side of the tunnel are too close, it won't opt to create a tunnel when a road is dragged over it.

Awesome thanks

Also glad it worked out for you with the tunnel you wanted as well, that looks great

I don't get it. You already knew about the hole digging lots. Why then the question ????

On the otherhand, if the hole digging lots still don't the problem, use the terraforming tool to create a steep hill at both ends of the tunnel. After the tunnel, you use the roads to level the steep hill again :).

Yep, I still got it.

Diggis

Fredrick, was that aimed at Gingerbread?  The initial question was because of the dual tunnels in the middle stopping the train tunnel.  You needed to do the train tunnel first.

frdrcklim

Yeah. That was for gingerbread. I dunno. It kinda felt weird that he already finished the impossible tunnel on the same day he posted the question? Maybe that's just me :P.

That's actually a great idea Diggis or maybe I haven't been playing for a while :D. The train tunnel goes first before the avenue ;D.
