I didnt even know about that program called  Rhinoceros3D. I went to the site seems like a pretty decent 3d program. Its a hella lot cheaper then 3d studio max thats for sure. Thanks for letting me know what you use. Was curious since your style is so detailed. Pretty good testimony to how well  Rhinoceros3D really is in comparasion to 3d studio.

Dethsrow

Hey Marcszar, Dethsrow here I just have to say that i've been looking at some of your BAT's and their quite awsome especially your housing projects. You really do a good job with putting that urban type of feel in your lots. I just have a couple of suggestions for your housing projects, i think you should add grafitti to the walls and also throw in some trash to give it more of a grimey ghettoish look. Other than that keep up the good work and i will be looking forward to more.

Glade to see your back Marcszar. This latest work looks like its going to make a fine addition to your already great family of residential NYC buildings.

being a baltimoron myself I love your BATs, keep them up mate :D (especially more baltimore based ones, but the others are all great as well :))

Wow...I'm such a huge fan of your bats! Glad to see you creating once more and this model looks spectacular. My favorite aspect of your creations has always been the intricate detail of these urban America style structures. Spending most of my life in Chicago, I see a lot of buildings similar to this everyday. Can't wait to see this in game!  &apls

The modeling is incredibly detailed, but the building's scale is really off.

On the far right is the massing for the RL Earl Court, based on measurements made in google earth, and height from emporis.com, scaled vertically be 133%.  I know it's not an exact recreation, but it still has the same number of floors, and is the same type and use and age as the original, so the floor heights should be about the same.

To the far left is the current scale, with red lines comparing the floor heights to a maxis office building, showing that your apartment's floors are about twice as tall.

In the middle is your building scaled down so that the floor heights are the same as the original building's, with red lines showing that the floor heights are comparable to the game's.  At this scale the building is almost exactly a 1x2.  I know it must be shocking to see the building so much smaller, but that's what the building would look like in the game if it were realistically scaled.  But that makes sense, since it's only an 8 story apartment building, which isn't really very big.

Anyway, I hope you consider scaling it, it really is a wonderful model.   :)

I think it's perfect just the way it is now!

Good I'm glad you scaled it down!  It looks much better now.   :)

For the textures I'd probably just desaturate all of them a bit.

Aaron Graham

Looks Really good. I can really learn from you with your residential Apartments.

SC4BOY

Thanks for the show and tell.. :) .. these previews only show us why Marcszar is among the preemminent SC4 modelers! Keep 'em coming! One of the remarkable elements of your style is how you can focus on a fairly narrow genre of city buildings, yet crank out new and fresh creations.. thanks again.
