I also have a question  ;D

I've installed the 'No Rail Dirt' Mod but I still get rail dirt underneath the tracks. Can anyone help me fix this?

Thanks!

Jack

I had the same problem. Make sure its in a folder that starts with a few 'z's so that it loads last.

So far I'm using only standard filters came with cs3. Only based overlay texture was acquired deep from the web ;).

Floydian: Thanks! I'll try that.

Gwail: Wow that's some great stuff.  &apls I feel like I'm looking at real old pics.

One question though...

Where did you get these walls?

Airjack_dude, these (I suppose, your pic doesn't show up) are NOB's walls, altered a bit by myself. You've got link here: http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=414.msg198120#msg198120 .

And a real old photo you will find here . I only stylize my pics a bit ;).

Thanks a million Gwail. I'm gonna download 'em right away.

BTW, are there any tutorials on how to modify pictures to give them this rusty look (Hint! Hint!! Hint!!!...lol  ;D), you know for lost souls like me  %confuso that are not so good with photoshop???

I'm gonna try my hand at this and probably look for some pointers on the web as well.

Take care.

Jack

Sorry airjack_dude, missed your edit.

It's funny, first of all I've used Photoshop's built-in action called "sepia tonight". Next I've altered it in a way I wanted (layer opacity mostly - I didn't want to have full sepia, left colors a bit), added the old paper texture (found with google graphics) as overlay (modified, too). That's 70% of effect.

There is only some tweaks left, one of them is masked dark layer for vignette and some additional layers for soften - it's not necessary, a matter of private preferrences, as all mentioned above layer alterings or the black-white border.

Good luck ;)!

Where do you get that HSR station from, it's interesting.

airjack_dude

Gwail, Thank You! Thank You!! Thank You!!!

I tried your technique and I must say I'm loving the results. I'm not all set though. Will post some shots soon.

Nice one. :)

You are lucky that I spotted the tunnal portal at the edge of the picture!  :D

I might add either a pedestrian bridge or underpass there, for the ladder I like to use small chunks of subway, a technique I once learned from marrast's lost masterpiece Eladremme years ago - too bad it doesn't exist anymore.
