Now my vote: ejc and Dortmund Hauptbahnhof  
Dsrwhat - maybe I'm not familiar with such kind of slums, so I'm not be able to appreciate them, and I visited the Ruhrgebiet some times and I remember it's specific atmosphere of highly industrialized German cities. I can find it in EJC's pictures. I can't call them picturesque, but I like them!
