Lerists picture also gets my vote... the facade of the back drop of the skyscrapers is breathtaking. Rhythmandjays is a nice picture, but the effects used on the shot ruins it abit... nevertheless; great work.

Lerist, very good picture. There are three elements I like:
- Very nice light/shadow effects on the skyscrapers visible in the foreground (what is this building?);
- More light in the center, especially the blue facade looks excellent in this place. It also gives an illusion of the third dimension.
- An interesting perspective created by the skyscraper in the foreground and the blue one.

Rhytmandjays - I suppose I understand your intention and I appreciate it. It is always good to look for new ways of presentation. But graphic editing can be dangerous 
- It is good to apply effects/filters on separate layers. Most graphic programs - not only Photoshop, but also GIMP, Corel etc. enable work with layers. Using them you will be able to adjust your effect strength and merging mode.
- If you want to soften your picture, you can use Gaussian Blur (it's easier than other methods from this group), but then it is good to use Unsharp Mask to recreate some edges.
- There are also many plugins for graphic programs, some of them include softening effect. Everything is a question of trials and errors, so don't worry but try again! 
And sometimes the picture is better without any photoshopping...

Have to go with the flow here.  Lerist's pic is a great scraper shot - one of the best I've seen - but IAGTEY's "Mexican" feel does it for me this time.
