To jumpstart this thread again...

Unfortunately my last vote (above) was after the time limit ()sad().

After 24 hours we had reached a tie, and belfastsocrates broke the tie in favor of Simmer2, 5 votes to Vizoria/Ln X's 4. &apls

We need a new challenger!

Honestly, I would enter some of my stuff here - but I find the maximum height restriction to be far, far too restrictive and confusing as well. I've noticed that there's more than a couple pics in the HOF that bypass the limit, and there's also a good number of recent pics that do too - has the rule been changed over time and I just never noticed it, or is it something that just isn't really enforced anymore?

I also noticed that rooker1 mentioned that there was a possible height change being talked about a couple years back.. to 2048.. which seems more fair. And considering this competition has been dead for two months, it seems like a good move to make in order to give it a little move activity perhaps.

korver,

a decision was made during the competition a while back, that mosaics would be allowed, but 1.) had to conform to the width rules still (vertical mosaics only, essentially), and 2.) needed to be of reasonable size.

Reasonable size is obviously up for debate, but basically means that 5000px long images will probably be frowned on. Slightly elongated images (say, 2000 pix over a 1200px screen height in a, say, 1920x1200 native screen resolution) would be acceptable. This post and the followup discussion should be a guide. I will PM Arthur about the rules and see if we can get them formally changed.

In the meantime, feel free to post your picture. I suspect it will be HoF material .

EDIT: Also, see this post by rooker1 (Robin). Not sure if any proper discussion was had, as I was not on staff then.

Thanks for clearing that up, much appreciated. Can't go wrong with this one.

Hello hello, posting vertical mosaic is of course allowed as long you don't post a picture that weight several gb and is as long as a skyscraper.

Of course keep in mind something. The bigger your picture, the heavier it will be. Not every member on this website has the chance to use GB Optical fiber. If your picture is too heavy some people will simply not be able to see it at all due to loading time. That means you lose a potential vote.
