I like the simple style of Kitsune's pic. The bridge is well done and fits well with the shores. It makes sense that it would be a fairly open area (being in a park and everything), but there is something about the water that just seems really bare. The trees and grass around the area are lush, but there is nothing next to the water. Some rocks, or some plants might improve the transition, but I don't think it would need much. Also, the menu button at the bottom is showing. It's not a big thing, but every little bit helps to make a good pic bette. Aside from that, the pic looks good.

Robin's (rooker's) pic is well done as well. The port lots show some decent work in them, and the arrangement of them looks good in the pic. The only things I notice would be the menu button, and the truck just left of center in the pic seems to be disappearing into the warehouse LOD. Aside from that, I like the greyscale of the pic. It gives it an historical feel and there is plenty of variety and activity without things looking cluttered or repetitive.

With that said, I will vote for Rooker this round.

Kitsune, that is a very nice picture.  I like how there's a modest amount of traffic crossing the bridge, but something still seems missing from the scene.  In the end, I'm voting for Robin's great lot-editing and presentation.

Well, no challenges for a couple hours, so I'll pitch mine into the fray:

vs. Rooker1's:

My pic was too big, Robin

My vote goes to The_Hutt's picture - it's so cinematic! Rooker1 mate, I love the closeness and texturing on that picture, I would vote, but I'm not very fond of seaports. I can never get into the habit of liking them...&mmm

My vote also goes to rooker1 - I can almost see a 1950s movie scene in that picture.

I like the idea of your picture The-Hutt - BUT, given the span of the bridge and the width of the river, I really don't think that the bridge support in the river looks quite right.  And as that is the centre of the pic, it kind of takes away from what is otherwise a very nicely done shot.

So this time I vote for Rooker1

Rooker1  8-4  The_hutt
