Mmorales' pic is very clean and although it does seem to repeat buildings noticeably, it is still a well composed pic. I like EarthQuake's pic, but again, that UDI icon really takes away from the pic. This round, my vote is for mmorales2.

Hi everyone. I can see that I won't win this round but I would like to know what is wrong with my picture so that I can try harder the next time. Is it boring? To "Gridy" like one said? Please, any comments and suggestions would be nice and thanks.

Mmorales - ahh, if only there was a "secret" formula we could tell you about.  And that is the beauty of this competition, different people like different things.  I have managed to get a picture into the Hall of Fame but had pictures that I think are better not win one round.

Have a look at the Hall of Fame thread to get an idea of what gets in there.

I think that whatever subject you choose, just do it the best you can.  I just take pictures for my MD and sometimes you see one and think that it has a chance.

I like your picture, maybe it is a bit too "uniform" - the two buildings on the left are the same, the two main building centre/right are very similar, the statues/columns maybe too similare as well???  The small park area even has trees in an alomst perfect grid.  Maybe this is what you were trying to achieve - and maybe some people do not like this "uniformity".  But I like it, and I really like that small domed building - what is that?

Also, EarthQuake's picture breaks the rules - it is too big, so I think that when the mods see it the victory will not count any way 

So, with that my vot goes to mmorales2 to make it

Earthquake, your picture is only a bit too big (as Vester said). Edit: It's a Moderator's decision (Masochist or Rooker1) what to do with it.

But both pictures are PNGs and they should be JPGs. If you don't know how to convert them easy to JPG, please download Irfan View and you will be able to do it only with a few clicks.

I think because both pictures should be converted, this thread Moderators can do it for you - but only this time. I saw Earthquake's pic yesterday, but I have no right to edit pictures here.

The small round building is a BAT that was made  by Caliban. You can find his work at the BSC Exchange. It is a group of buildings in a download and this is one of them. The file you want to find is the Caliban Lots BSC. Oh, and about your comment about "Uniformity". I know this, I am cursed by it. I am a person who loves grid style and order  . Thank you for your help.

mmorales2: If you want a good critique of your pic, I suggest posting it in the You Be The Critic thread. You get some great, insightful comments there. There is nothing really 'wrong' with your pic either. As paroch mentioned, people have different tastes and what may seem like a perfect pic may not get the expected reaction. Any type of picture can win. If you like grids, then go for it and find a pic that really shows off what a grid can look like. Details really help make a pic stand out too. This does not mean that the pic that is at the closest zoom will win though. I have seen overviews where you can keep picking out little things here and there. It's the little something extra that a pic has that usually helps it here.
