Hmmmmm, two very similar pictures.  On first look I prefer Alan's picture, but on closer inspection I think Derry's is more realistic given the way he has graduated the rocks coming out of the water.

These pictures look like a timeline...
in the evening the boat is floating in dangerously shallow water...
the next morning the boat has struck rock and sunk when the tide came in...

I'll board the boat in Monica Bay before the tide and take it further out in deeper water!
