Very nice photos. I like the fact that the first reminds me to a abandoned house near here, in my town. It's lonely and in the middle of the forest, used very often to play paintball.

kelis

your rural cities are incredibly realistic, I love the image of the train, I hope you continue the good work.

Update #25 - Finishing Mühlenberg and Starting a new Region

Well the last Update was called "A first look at Mühlenberg". It seems to be a lie $%Grinno$% (I'm sorry :P) - I'll post one last image of Mühlenberg, though (the first mosaic).
At some point I realized that my region was way too big - that's why I decided to start a new region, which will still be in the Empire of Leviathan. That region will consist of rural areas but also of a huge city (I estimate it to be on at least 9 big tiles - hopefully more ::)). Today you'll get to see a first Teaser of the suburbs of that mentioned city ;). Hopefully you will like it...

Teaser

Ok, I hope you liked this Update #25 :) and even more that you'll appreciate my new region :-\.
I've got some questions:

#1: Did you like the colours in the second mosaic, or do you think they're too colourful?
#2: I've tested like 4 different mods that claimed to remove those ugly palms... none of them worked - does anyone know how to fix that?
#3: I've got Ennedi's Slopemod installed... it worked fine until recently... does anyone know why?

Any help would be appreciated :).

Fabian

io_bg: Thanks a lot, Ioan :). I personally thought that the effect in the last shot was quite cool, so I decided to post it (it looks like a painting in my opinion ;)).
sumwonyuno: Thanks :). I highly recommend everybody to make their own diagonal field-Lots, it's really worth it, since it adds a lot of realism ;). If you or anyone else would like to have them, don't hesitate to ask in this thread. I'll be attaching them to my next post as soon as possible .
calibanX: Thank you very much, Geoff :).

Love it! Brilliant showcase of Matt's houses (how do you get so many to build in the one area!?  :o ) and great suburban areas. Loving those rural scenes as well, great use of Chrisadam's fences ;)

Can I ask, have you changed the isometric view in photoshop? Your straight streets look diagonal, and diagonals straight - and it looks real good!

#1: Not to colourful at all - however, the further the mosaic is zoomed out, the less colourful it should be IMO (to create the feeling of depth)
Have no idea about the other two - sorry :D

I know the problem with regionsize, that's why I've never finished one yet.

Your way of playing looks really awesome, btw.

for your questions:
#1) I like the colors more saturated as your last pic (I always do this with mine).
#2) & #3) This sounds like mod conflicts. My Palm-removal-mod works fine. I'll take a look, which one I use.

Ben

EDIT: I have 2, but I don't know where they are from, as I just keep the dats due to space.
          The names of the dats:
                NoPalmsProps-Pines.dat   (28.10.2004)
                No $$$ Palms.dat            (05.09.2004)
        I hope that helps.

NAM + CAM + RAM + SAM, that's how I roll....

Utvaw

Been following your MD for a while, great work.

I now have 2 questions though.  In the teaser above what is the large residential looking building in the upper left of the picture and what walls are you using for the sunken rail?

djvandrake

Fantastic!   &apls

Those rail lines are supurb.  I really like that a lot.

For your questions:

1)  I very much enjoy the colors. I think your mosaic looks wonderful.

2)  My no palms mods don't work either. :(  Sorry I'm no help, but I'll be an interested reader for the comments of the others here.

3)  I use a different slope mod.  Can't remember which.  I'll check.

And I can't wait to see this huge, 9 tile city! Yikes!  ;D

scott1964

Good job on the pond. I am still trying my hand at that sort of stuff.  ;D

Sciurus

Waow waow waow!!! That is really really wonderful! I can't believe it! :o :o
I love the second image &apls And thanks for the water

Awesome mosaics!!! Really fantastic work!!!  &apls

Battlecat

Fantastic update!  A great pair of mosaics you've created here!

Engorn

Woaaaaaa! I loved the first mosaic. I love when it rains like this in here when I'm staying at home. It only could be improved if I could make a fire on the chimney.

gottago

Wonderful pics, but they take a long time to load--are they .pngs? Better to post .jpgs. The bottom one is too saturated and dark for my taste, though.

I gave up on no palm mods a while ago--none of them seem to work; they all leave little rump palmettos that look silly. I've used the SFBT tree replacement mod, which does get rid of palms as advertised, but it creates another problem--though it promises to give you control over what tree models appear on your streets, I get conifers mixed in when I want only deciduous. I've never been anywhere other than mountain villages where you see streets lined with towering pine and spruce trees, and find this just as annoying as Maxis palms, but maybe it will work for you.

In the same way, I've never found a rail ballast removal mod that works, though I've tried them all and moved them literally everywhere in my plugins, and ended up using a compromise one that replaces the ballast with an inoffensive grass texture. It doesn't blend with the terrain but better than nothing.

Connor

That second mosaic is spectacular. The railway and the lake is amazing. Great work

BuildingUp

Wow, that's one heck of a teaser! I absolutely love the realism in this picture. I love the stormy atmosphere in the first picture. I also like the railways. Very nice!  &apls

Q-Tips

This is simply just wonderful. I love how you put en effort to details. I neven been a huge fan to rainy pictures, but this time i just have surrender to the good atmosphere it gives. Many real good pictures here.

nedalezz

Two great mosaics in one update, not much more one can ask for! I love the colour scheme in the second one, and my favorite part is the little lake at the end, which seems a world away from the urban area just few hundred meters north.

Yan077

Always a great pleasure to visit your MD Fabian ! ()stsfd()
These mosaics are really impressive, superb work and incredible details, as always  &apls

io_bg

Fantastic update, Fabian! &apls The photoshopping makes these pics so realistic! I particularly like the rail layout as well!
Take care,
Ioan
