And what do you think you're doing looking at my signature?

meinhosen

jestarr, that Owosso plant is fantastic!  I'm eager to see that hit the LEX.

Andreas- the re-lotted buildings look pretty good, although I'm kind of curious why the "Railway Express Agency" (third pic) doesn't have a railroad... it seems odd, considering the nature of the business  :P
You're telling me I get to be home for more than 12 months?

BigSlark

Andreas,

The lots you have made look great. I have to agree with Meinhosen, though. The Railway Express Agency does look odd without tracks...

Cheers,
Kevin

Andreas

Thanks! :) I'm certainly aware of the odd name that Railway Express Agency bears now, considering that there are no railway tracks in sight. ;) But as I said earlier, I think that this is somewhat realistic. Trains often are not flexible enough anymore, so companies are switching over to trucks. The company name is just a reminder of those "good old times", and if you want, you could interpret in a way that they deliver express goods to a freight railway station that is located somewhere else.

Here's another model, started during lunch, that you might be interested in.  This is just one wall section.  There'll be an entrance in the middle section.  I didn't do it as I was in a hurry.  This is loosely based on the old Spirella Corset Company factory.  Cheers!

rooker1

That looks great.  And you say you did this during your lunch.....

jestarr,

I love the "this is what I came up with during lunch" updates.

They always turn into something great.

Cheers,
Kevin

Andreas: those lots look great. your interpretation about the railway express sounds convincing..

jestarr: that wall looks very promising (much more if consider you did this during lunch)

Owosso looks excellent, jestarr.   The billboards on the edge are a nice touch.

Andreas: Everything looks good!  Can't wait for them to be released!  &apls

Keep up the good work! - Kyle

@rooker1:  Thanks.  Lunch is when I get most of my work done, as there's a standing rule, at work, not to bother me then. :D

@BigSlark:  Thank you too.  I hope this one comes out as well as you expect.

@Andreas:  Those are some excellent looking lots.  Nice work! ;D

OK, I had a little time after supper , so I added a few things.  It's still in its infancy, so to speak, so they'll be some tweaking and shuffling before its finished.  Particularly the trim around the tops of the walls.  It looks a little too thick to me.  Anyway, here's a pic of its current state.  Cheers!

Yoman

Excellent work especially for such a short amount of time, a large building with a roof like that would be very cool :)

jestarr

Well, I haven't posted in a few days, but I have been busy. :D  I'm working on the beet sugar plant lots, the corset factory model and I've started on the Pelham Toilet Tissue factory. ;D  Below are a couple of progress pics.  The first is the current state of the corset factory.  I'm not real happy with parts of it, so they'll be some changes to what you see.  The second is Annex A of Pelham.  The plan is to have four buildings in the set.  We'll see how that goes. :P  Also, for those interested, I've uploaded the calendar factory to the LEX.  Cheers!

freedo50

I really just don't understand it. You are definitely one of the fastest batters out there yet the quality of your work is as good as any.  It really makes no sense.  ()what() Once again jestarr, you have me dumbfounded. Keep it up!  :D

Oh goodie, another something for me to go collect on LEX. These new buildings look very promising, keep up the great work :)

Thanks, I'm glad ya'll like them. ;D  My friend, the model railroad fanatic, upon seeing the corset factory, said it looked more like a university than a factory.  I can't help that.  The real factory happens to look very much the same as my model. :D

Hows progress on VW plant?
I find that alcohol, taken in sufficient quantities, can bring about all the effects of drunkenness.

jestarr

In about 5 more hours, we'll find out. :D  I've massaged the LODs, once again.  Hopefully, render 37 will be the one that's a success. :P

Pat

Eeeeeeeeek 37 renders on the VW plant wow... Hopefully in the next 3hrs we should seem some results? ? ? ?

@patfirefghtr:  Yep, 37, and at 11 hours each, it's been an experience. :D

Well, it almost worked. :P  One more LOD tweak and another render and it should be ready to go.  It's almost there, but there's one spot that has a messy appearance.  Unfortunately it's in a place that can't be comouflaged, so has to be fixed.
